The National Geographic Society’s mission statement reads, “Using the power of science, exploration, education, and storytelling to illuminate and protect the wonder of our world.”

With ideals rooted in storytelling, preservation, and wonder, it makes perfect sense for Disney to have formed a partnership with National Geographic. But it’s not the only partnership rooted in exploration, education, and wonder.

Lindblad Expeditions and National Geographic have been partnered for almost 20 years, bringing ships such as the National Geographic Endeavour II, National Geographic Endurance, National Geographic Explorer, and more to Guests seeking the spirit of adventure.

Now, this unique partnership is bringing the newest ship in the entire fleet, the National Geographic Islander II.

The National Geographic Islander II is an expedition vessel with a “1:1 guest-to-crew ratio,” giving it the “spirit and soul of a private yacht,” according to National Geographic.

The ship sails all year round, featuring teak decks that bring together indoor and outdoor spaces. It also features an observation deck, a Science Hub, indoor and outdoor dining options, and beautiful suites.

Although it may feel like a private yacht, the spirit of active exploration is alive and well. The vessel is equipped with “a fleet of kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, a custom-built glass bottom Zodiac and a flotilla of versatile Mark V Zodiacs,” according to Disney.
