Soon, Guests Will Be Able to Experience This Brand New Disney Technology at Home

Just a few months ago, we reported on a piece of brand-new technology that was already a part of the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser experience inside Guests cabins. At the time, it was also being tested in select rooms at Walt Disney World’s Polynesian Village Resort.

The “Hey Disney” voice assistant (also known as the Disney Magical Companion) is Walt Disney World’s latest technological experiment partnering with Amazon Alexa. Using this new voice assistant, Guests visiting select Walt Disney World Resort hotels can make simple requests, such as asking for more towels. From Walt Disney World’s official website, the more interactive and magical aspects of “Hey Disney” can:

  • Wake you with a message from Mickey Mouse and pals.

  • Tell you jokes, play you stories or challenge you with Disney trivia.

  • Take you into the worlds of Disney, Pixar, Star Wars and the Muppets for interactive character experiences.

The Disney Magical Companion is optional and complimentary. From what we know, it’s currently being tested in Walt Disney World but will soon make its way to other Resort hotels in Disney World, Disneyland, and even International Disney Resort hotels.

The Gizmodo report states, “Right now, it’s only available in hotel rooms at Disney resorts. But soon, it’ll be open to anyone with an Echo device.” Disney fans will be able to use “Hey Disney” through an extra paid Amazon Alexa addition. Although we don’t know just how much this extra feature will be, we do know that this extra magical virtual assistant will automatically be accessed if users are already paying for an Amazon Kids profile.

This virtual assistant will open up a whole new world of entertainment and Disney magic right at home!

Disney Tips will keep readers updated on the latest news regarding the situation.
