Space Mountain is one of Disney’s most iconic attractions with variations on the roller coaster featured in theme parks around the world. Between seasonal overlays, complete reimaginings, and routine refurbishments, this is one attraction that can experience some serious downtime to keep everything up and running for Guests.
At one Disney Park, the attraction is closing today along with several others for much of the fall season. As always, we recommend staying up-to-date with scheduled refurbishments and closures to avoid disappointment during your next Disney vacation, so we’ve got everything you need to know about what’s up next.

Beginning today, September 12, 2022, several attractions across Disneyland Paris Resort will be closed for scheduled refurbishments. Star Wars: Hyperspace Mountain, the current overlay on the Space Mountain ride in Discoveryland will be closed until this Wednesday, September 14, overlapping with the closure of Alice’s Curious Labyrinth through September 16, and Rustler Roundup Shootin’ Gallery through September 30.
Beyond this month’s refurbishments at Disney’s European Resort, the Frontierland Playground also closes today and does not reopen until October 23, 2022.

Disneyland Paris is not the only Disney Resort to have work planned for Space Mountain. The attraction at Tokyo Disneyland is set to be totally reimagined along with the rest of Tomorrowland to create a more cohesive and immersive theme.
At Walt Disney World, permits were filed for construction work on Space Mountain earlier this year, but so far no closure has been announced. It is possible then that either work was able to take place without closing the attraction, or that a closure will be announced at a later date.
Before you set out to explore any Disney Park, we always recommend checking for upcoming refurbishments on the Park’s website. For Disneyland Paris, the refurb schedule quiets down after this month, but you can always find the latest updates ahead of your next trip at DisneylandParis.com.
