Between Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT, Walt Disney World Resort offers more magic than anywhere else. After all, it is ‘the most magical place on Earth!’ Over at Animal Kingdom, the magic is taken to a whole new level each night. Unfortunately, many Guests never get to experience this remarkable transition.

Over 1,000 animals call the Disney Park home, including the largest groups of African Elephants and Nile Hippos. Not only that but important conservation work and research are constantly being done at Animal Kingdom. For example, Walt Disney World scientists have discovered two entirely new vocalizations while studying the elephants at Animal Kingdom!

You may notice that Animal Kingdom has more foliage than other Disney Parks and absolutely no fireworks. This is all done for the welfare of the animals, which is Animal Kingdom’s highest priority. As a result, the Disney Park closes earlier than Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT.

The official Disney Parks TikTok account recently posted this video, showcasing the dazzling visuals of Pandora – The World of Avatar once the sun has gone down. However, fans quickly pointed out that they rarely get to see it.
One TikTok user writes, “If Animal Kingdom would stay open so I could visit Pandora at night more often I would.”
Another user writes, “I never get to see Pandora at night [because] it closes so early.”

It’s worth noting that in the summertime in Florida, the sun can set anywhere after 5 p.m. to past 8 p.m., making it difficult to see these beautiful lights at night in Animal Kingdom.
Was this an oversight on Walt Disney Imagineering’s part? Or does the rarity of Pandora at night make it more special? While we can’t say for sure, we can undoubtedly agree that Pandora – The World of Avatar is stunning once the sun goes down.
