This Disney Park Restaurant Is Receiving a ‘Luca’-Inspired Expansion

Luca (2021) made a splash when it was first released last summer. Almost immediately, audiences connected with the unique coming-of-age story featuring two teenage sea monsters who easily pass for humans-when they’re not in the water!

The story of Luca is heartwarming, focusing on the timeless themes of friendship, growing up, and acceptance of yourself and from others. The beautiful seaside town and Italian riviera settings also charmed audiences.

So it’s no wonder that this romantic Italian bistro is receiving an expansion inspired by this fan-favorite film.

The Pizzeria Bella Notte is an Italian eatery in Disneyland Paris specializing in pizza and pasta. The restaurant currently pays homage to Tony’s Restaurant in Lady and the Tramp (1955) and moments from the Fantasia films. Soon, it’ll also be home to an entire section paying homage to Luca’s hometown on the Italian Riviera, Portorosso.

The official Disney Parks Blog recently announced this expansion, but we don’t have any dates for the changes coming to this restaurant. The Art Director at Walt Disney Imagineering Paris – Design & Show Quality, Tracy Eck, shared her thoughts on this project with Disney Parks Blog, saying:

‘Luca’ is a beautiful coming-of-age tale that reminds us of the beauty of acceptance, of one another but also from within. Discovering who we are can be a daunting challenge, but friendships can help us on that journey […] I’m really happy that we are able to bring elements from the story of ‘Luca’ here to Fantasyland.
