Celebrating Halloween time at a Disney Park is a fantastic experience that every Disney fan should enjoy at least once in their lifetime. In addition to fall decorations and themed entertainment, Guests also have an opportunity to interact with characters (and Disney villains) seldom found in the standard Disney theme park.

Blame it on the Boogie

While the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is the premier event at Walt Disney World, the Oogie Boogie Bash is the special Halloween event at Disney California Adventure Park. Guests can enjoy a special moonlit treat trail or sing and dance along with the Frightfully Fun Parade.

When ticket sales debuted for the Oogie Boogie Bash in late June of this year, the demand was so high that it broke Disneyland Resort’s website. Guests who had planned their entire morning around booking and planning their special Disney Halloween party were quickly frustrated as a message notifying them of a technical problem was all they could see:

“We are aware of a technical issue with Oogie Boogie Bash ticket sales, which have been temporarily paused. Teams are working to find a resolution as quickly as possible. We will update the website when we know more. Please be advised that call center wait times are heavily impacted currently.”

Tickets Return

Beginning today (July 11), ticket sales resumed for the special Disneyland Resort event on Disney’s website. The event also has a limited capacity admission which means it’s sometimes difficult to secure a ticket. Currently, Guests find themselves in an online queue if they attempt to book.

For those lucky enough to secure a ticket and reservation, the after-hours event will feature a virtually crowd-free chance to ride classic attractions and experience unique Halloween entertainment.

The Oogie Boogie Bash runs from early September thru Halloween night at the Disney California Adventure Park, with tickets ranging from $134 to $189.

About Steven Wilk

Steven has a complicated relationship with Disney. As a child, he visited Walt Disney World every few years with his family. But he never understood why kids his age (and older) were so scared of Snow White or Alien Encounter. He is a former participant of the Disney College Program (left early…long story), and he also previously worked in Children’s publishing, where he adapted multiple Disney movies and TV shows. He has many controversial opinions about Disney…like having a positive view of Michael Eisner, believing Return of the Jedi is superior to The Empire Strikes Back, and that Toy Story Land and Galaxy’s Edge should have never been built (at least not at Hollywood Studios). Every year for the past two decades, Steven has visited either Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Aulani or went on a Disney Cruise. He’s happy to share any and all knowledge of the Disney destinations (and he likes using parenthesis a lot…as well as ellipses…)
