Goodbye Merida

Currently, Disney Park Guests can meet Merida from Brave (2012) at the Fairytale Garden meet and greet space at Magic Kingdom.

The Fairytale Garden location has been home to multiple character meet and greet opportunities through the years. Located near Cinderella Castle, the spot is across from Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe and adjacent to the Cheshire Cafe. Before Merida had her residency, Disney Guests could meet Rapunzel and Flynn Rider from Disney’s Tangled (2010).

Hello Mirabel

Confirmed by Walt Disney World Resort, the location will be the new home for Mirabel from Walt Disney Studios’ Encanto (2021). A permit filed by Adena Corporation is listed for “General Construction” at the Fairytale Gardens location. Adena has been contracted by Disney and has previously worked with other theme Park construction projects at SeaWorld and Six Flags.

Although Disney has not released concept art of the newly reimagined space, it will include whimsical décor inspired by La Familia Madrigal.

Maybe Bruno?

Disney has recently opened up casting for individuals to audition as Bruno. It’s possible that he may join Mirabel, but Disney has yet to confirm where or when he will appear at Walt Disney World Resort.

Currently, characters from Encanto (2012) are rare at Disney World theme Parks. Usually, Mirabel is only available for meet and greets during runDisney races. However, she has appeared more frequently in Paradise Gardens Park at Disney California Adventure and Disneyland Park.

In the meantime, Merida is still available for meet and greets through August, as with all other characters in the Magic Kingdom. The area still contains tapestries inspired by Brave (2012), archery equipment, and a large stone table.
