Most Walt Disney World Theme Parks Now at Capacity Next Week

Reservations continue to be required to enter Walt Disney World theme parks, and next week is shaping up to be quite busy at each of the four parks. At least one theme park is fully booked for the duration of next week, June 5-11, 2022, with some days only having one or two parks available.

If you are visiting Walt Disney World next week and you have not yet made theme park reservations, be sure to do so as soon as possible. Unfortunately, the theme park reservation system is not tied to your tickets (even though your tickets are priced by date, so you may have selected a timeframe when you purchased). For this reason, it is important to check theme park reservation availability before purchasing.

As for next week, the Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios are at capacity for the entire week, with the exception of Saturday when Disney’s Hollywood Studios does still have some likely limited availability.

The Magic Kingdom is historically the most crowded Disney Park, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been a close second since the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and especially Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

During the rest of the week, EPCOT and Disney’s Animal Kingdom are mostly available, however, on Tuesday, June 7, EPCOT is the only park with open reservations at Walt Disney World.

Disney began requiring reservations to visit Walt Disney World and Disneyland theme parks when each resort reopened from its closures at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. At the time, reservations were recommended as the industry standard for managing capacity, which had restrictions set by state and local governments.

With COVID restrictions lifted, Disney has continued to manage capacity by keeping up with the theme park reservation system, which the company uses to self-regulate capacity in the parks and offer the best possible Guest experience.

For those visiting the parks, though, the reservation system has been a headache at times as theme parks book up well in advance for busy times of the year, and locals have had difficulty planning last-minute trips.

Be sure to check availability for the parks you are interested in visiting before you purchase tickets ahead of your next Disney vacation, and check back here on Disney Tips for all the latest updates from Walt Disney World.
