Walt Disney World’s Most Underrated Attractions

When visiting Walt Disney World, Guests certainly have their must-do lists of popular attractions found throughout all four Disney Parks. From Avatar Flight of Passage to Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and everything in between, there are countless attractions that are popular amongst many Guests and frequently have lengthy wait times.

While those attractions are all wonderful, there are also many great attractions and experiences that tend to be overlooked by Guests and therefore are considered to be underrated. These underrated attractions all typically have little to no wait times, making them amazing options to enjoy on busy days in the Disney Parks. Here are some of the most underrated attractions that Guests should definitely enjoy on their next visit to Walt Disney World.

1. The Magic Carpets of Aladdin

Adventureland in the Magic Kingdom is home to the popular Jungle Cruise and Pirates of the Caribbean attractions as well as some underrated options that shouldn’t be missed. The Magic Carpets of Aladdin is a classic spinner-style attraction located right in the heart of Adventureland.

Guests can board magic carpets and take to the skies for beautiful views of the surrounding area and a gentle breeze from the rotations. In addition to the views, Guests can also control the height and tilt of their carpets, making the experience interactive as well. This attraction often has a low wait time and is overlooked by many, but it is a great experience to enjoy while in Adventureland.

2. Swiss Family Treehouse

Also found in Adventureland is the Swiss Family Treehouse based on the famous novel written by Johann David Wyss that tells the story of how the Robinson family was shipwrecked but used their resources to create an innovative and comfortable home for themselves.

Guests who take the time to enjoy the Swiss Family Treehouse can climb to the top of the tree and pass through various rooms set up by the family using what was available to them on the island. In addition to the different scenes, Guests who reach the top of the tree are rewarded with beautiful views of all of the Magic Kingdom that cannot be found elsewhere.

3. Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room

A third underrated attraction can also be enjoyed in Adventureland and also offers Guests the chance to relax in an air-conditioned theater. Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room brings Guests into the Sunshine Pavilion where a large ensemble of tropical birds, plants, and tikis come together to perform.

Guests sit in a rounded theater and look to the rafters above them for a medley of catchy songs and witty banter that brings the spirit of the islands to life. This often-overlooked attraction combines entertainment and the chance to relax making it a must-do on any trip to the Magic Kingdom.

4. Country Bear Jamboree

Another great show in the Magic Kingdom that is definitely considered to be underrated is the Country Bear Jamboree in Frontierland. The show is performed by a large cast of singing bears who each have their own personalities and charm that are brought to life through musical numbers.

Guests are invited to clap and stomp along as memorable characters such as Henry and Big Al take to the stage for an unforgettable show that can’t be missed.

5. Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress

Across the Magic Kingdom in Tomorrowland is another underrated attraction that has its history rooted in the 1964 New York World’s Fair. Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress brings Guests into an innovative theater that rotates around a central series of stages.

Guests can enjoy a series of scenes following a family throughout the century as they discover and enjoy new technologies and forms of progress to make life more convenient. In addition to entertaining scenes and history, Guests can also enjoy the catchy “There’s A Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow” making Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress a must-do.

6. Living with the Land

EPCOT is home to many popular and thrilling attractions that Guests tend to return to time and time again while in the Park. While those attractions are great, there are also some underrated options that shouldn’t be missed including Living with the Land. This serene experience is found in The Land Pavilion and brings Guests on a boat ride through different horticultural environments and greenhouses where the versatility and beauty of the land are showcased.

Guests can enjoy learning about new and innovative growing techniques while taking in beautiful plants and vegetation from their comfortable seats. Living with the Land might be considered underrated, but it should not be missed on a day in EPCOT!

7. Impressions de France

EPCOT’s World Showcase is also home to an underrated attraction that can be found in the France Pavilion. Impressions de France has Guests settle into a small and comfortable theater with multiple large screens.

Guests can then enjoy a scenic tour of France that showcases culture and beauty throughout different regions, all paired to a beautiful soundtrack of different French composers. Impressions de France is often overlooked by many Guests, but it is a beautiful film to enjoy on any visit to EPCOT.

8. Muppet Vision 3D

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is home to some of the most popular and thrilling attractions in all of Walt Disney World, making it a favorite Park of many Guests. While many of the attractions and experiences are typically busy, there are underrated experiences found there as well.

Muppet Vision 3D is a hilarious show that brings Guests on a tour of the Muppets’ facilities after they have discovered the spirit of 3D. With a great preshow and an over the top and zany main show in a large theater, Guests are sure to find themselves laughing along with the Muppets’ unique sense of humor in this show.

9. Maharajah Jungle Trek

Disney’s Animal Kingdom is home to many quiet and unique experiences and locations throughout the Park that tends to be overlooked by Guests who are more focused on popular attractions. One underrated experience that shouldn’t be missed is the Maharajah Jungle Trek which is located in the Asia area of the Park right near Kali River Rapids.

The self-guided walking trail brings Guests into the forest of Anadapur where they can enjoy quiet trails, a large aviary, and many different types of animals. The true highlight of the Maharajah Jungle Trail is the Asian tigers who live in beautiful temple ruins and can often be spotted playing in fountains and in the grassy hills of their homes.
