We Can’t Wait to Taste This on our Next Disney Trip!

Ahhh, the many tantalizing tastes of Walt Disney World.  No doubt every Guest has a list of favorites, whether it’s a signature meal at a table service restaurant, a snack or dessert at a quick service location, or maybe a yummy treat at one of Disney’s sweet shops.

Nowadays, the internet is teeming with recipes for popular eats in WDW that you can make at home if a trip to the most magical place on Earth isn’t in the cards at the moment.  But there’s just nothing like the real thing, enjoyed on property!  Here are a few things we can’t wait to taste on our next WDW trip.

Chewy Caramel Shortbread Bar

We’re not actually picky – we’d giddily settle for tasting anything at Karamell-Küche!  This to-die-for caramel shop in the Germany Pavilion at the World Showcase in Disney’s EPCOT theme park offers an intoxicating array of sweets ranging from Caramel Popcorn to Caramel Apples to Caramel-Filled Chocolate Cookies.

If you love caramel, you need to make a stop here, preferably when you’re hungry!  We can’t wait to enjoy the rich, gooey caramel and sweet, crumbly base of the Chewy Caramel Shortbread Bar again.

DOLE Whip

Full disclosure: while the famed DOLE Whip is good, it’s never topped my personal list of favorite treats in Walt Disney World (yes, I know, I may as well hand in my Disney card right now).  But it is one of the most iconic foods in WDW, and I list it as a nod to all of the Guests for whom a DOLE Whip is synonymous with Walt Disney World!

LeFou’s Brew

There are plenty of excellent signature cocktails found in restaurants in Walt Disney World, but the drink we pine for most is LeFou’s Brew at Gaston’s Tavern in Fantasyland at Disney’s Magic Kingdom Theme Park – and it can be enjoyed by kids and adults alike.

LeFou’s Brew is a delightful mix of no-sugar-added frozen apple juice with marshmallow flavoring and a fun topping of fruit-flavored foam.  This drink is WDW’s answer to Butterbeer, and its refreshing taste is perfect for a hot day in Orlando!

Mickey Bar

Vanilla ice cream dipped in chocolate: it’s nothing mind-blowing, of course, but my partner swears that the Mickey’s Premium ice cream bar is much more than the sum of its parts.

Lots of Guests seem to agree because this Mickey-shaped bar is one of the most popular treats in Walt Disney World!  There’s also a new raspberry-coated version available to celebrate WDW’s 50th anniversary.

Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup

Most of the items on this list fall into the “dessert/treat/snack” category, but of course, there’s also no shortage of savory eats in Walt Disney World that we can’t wait to taste again.

One such favorite is the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup from Le Cellier at the Canadian Pavilion in the World Showcase at Disney’s EPCOT Theme Park.  Rich, cheesy, and made with bacon and beer, this is one soup you’ll be seeing – and tasting – in your dreams.

Cinnamon Glazed Nuts

Is there anything more tantalizing than the smell of freshly roasted cinnamon glazed nuts?  We can’t wait to follow our noses to food stands in Walt Disney World theme parks to enjoy this tasty treat once more!

Typically, you’ll find almonds and pecans for sale, and we’ve sometimes seen cashews as well.  You really can’t go wrong here, because these candied treats are one of the yummiest snacks on property!

Fried Wontons

Yak & Yeti Restaurant in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park offers some of the most fabulous theming and food in the Park, and we always look forward to heading there for a meal.  And the dish we simply can’t wait to taste again here is their delectable Fried Wontons.

Crispy wontons filled with cream cheese, alternating on a skewer with fresh pineapple, and served with vanilla ice cream and honey-vanilla drizzle – what’s not to love?  They’re ostensibly a dessert, but we won’t tell if you eat them as your main course!

Cheddar Cheese Popcorn

How could a snack as commonplace as cheesy popcorn possibly make it onto a list of things we can’t wait to taste at Walt Disney World?  Get yourself a bag of Main Street, U.S.A. Cheddar Cheese Popcorn the next time you’re in WDW, and you’ll soon find out!

There are loads of fun flavors available, including special seasonal varieties offered throughout the year – but we’ve never found a flavor we love more than the Cheddar Cheese.  In fact, we stock up whenever we come across this mouth-watering snack at our Resort, or at Main Street Confectionery.

Artisanal Ice Cream

By far the best ice cream we’ve ever encountered at Walt Disney World is the artisanal ice-creamy-goodness at L’Artisan des Glaces in the France Pavilion at the World Showcase in Disney’s EPCOT Park.

We can’t wait to dessert around the world, starting right here!  Try the Coconut-White Chocolate, Cinnamon Caramel Apple, Caramelized Pecan, or any other yummy flavor on offer, and you’ll see ice cream in a whole new light.

Bottom Line

The line of new (to us) eats we want to try on our next trip to Walt Disney World is lengthy (topped by the cotton-candy filled Seashore Sweet drink at Abracadabar, and ALL THE COOKIES at Gideon’s Bakehouse in Disney Springs), but even longer is the list of old favorites that we absolutely can’t wait to taste again!
