Weather Restrictions Have Caused This Walt Disney World Park to Close For the Weekend

Florida is no stranger to abrupt changes in the weather, and native Floridians are never surprised by this phenomenon. Quick showers that are soon replaced by rain, a few days of cold weather, and hurricane warnings out of the blue are simply par for the course for the Sunshine State.

However, Orlando and Kissimmee (the two cities that Walt Disney World Resort is closest to) are not exempt from strange weather just because they’re home to Disney Water Parks.

Blizzard Beach, a Walt Disney World Resort water park, is set to close this weekend due to some unexpected cold weather. Although according to the Weather Channel, Kissimmee’s current forecast for today (January 12) yields a high of 80 degrees Fahrenheit and a low of 58 degrees Fahrenheit, the weather will soon take a dive this weekend.

Tomorrow (Friday, January 13) shows highs of 65 degrees and lows of 38 degrees.

This Saturday, January 14, predicts highs of 55 degrees and lows of 35 degrees.

Sunday, January 15, shows highs of 61 degrees and lows of 41.

Checking on the official Blizzard Beach website will show that the Disney Park is closed on January 13, 14, and 15.

As for the following week, the weather will quickly warm itself up to highs in the 80s and lows in the 50s and 60s. On Monday (January 16), however, the high is 71 degrees Fahrenheit, and the low is 47 degrees Fahrenheit. While that may make for a chilly day at the water park, Blizzard Beach is still projected to reopen that day.
