What Happens if a Disney Character’s Head Falls Off?

We’ve been to the Disney Parks numerous times, and thankfully, we’ve never seen a Disney character’s head fall off. But with the impressive number of Disney characters and entertainment spread throughout the Parks and Resorts, hiccups do happen. So, in that moment of sheer panic with a wardrobe malfunction… how exactly does a character respond?

We can remember visiting Walt Disney World Resort with our kids. The Crystal Palace Restaurant at Magic Kingdom Park features character dining with Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, and Piglet. When it was Tigger’s turn to visit our table, we quickly spotted a very obvious zipper issue.

Before we could even let the character’s partnering Cast Member know, the Cast Member quickly hugged Tigger and told us he’ll be right back as she ushered him away. He came back soon after with no sign of any wardrobe issues.

But, can you imagine trying to explain to a young child why a character’s head fell off when visiting a Disney Park?! That would be extremely difficult! Disney Cast Members are, however, taught to respond quickly to the mistake if it should happen.

@themouselets took to social media to share a brief video noting, “What happens if a Disney character’s head falls off.” Check out the video below:

As you can see in the older video, Tweedledum and Tweedledee are dancing down Main Street, U.S.A., with Tigger. When Tweedledee’s head falls off, he very quickly recovers it, with Tigger and the other characters attempting to block the view.

It’s extremely rare to see a character’s head fall off at Disney, but it’s not completely uncommon to spot a different wardrobe malfunction such as the experience we encountered with Tigger having a zipper issue. Regardless, Disney theme park characters do their absolute best to be show ready as soon as they step foot “on stage” with Guests.
