“This Is How It Is in America,” Guests Throw Chairs, Tackle Each Other in Shocking Cruise Ship Catfight

Since its first sailing in July 1998, thousands of voyagers have taken the most magical trips worldwide aboard the Disney Cruise Line fleet, including the Disney Wish, the Disney Dream, the Disney Fantasy, the Disney Magic, the Disney Wonder, and soon, the Disney Treasure — the sixth ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet.

Of course, the cruise industry is as competitive as the theme park and entertainment one, meaning that The Walt Disney Company’s ships are not the only ones sailing the seven seas.

Unfortunately, a competitor cruise ship recently became the scene of a violent fight involving nearly a dozen guests and multiple security officers, with several witnesses and employees fearing for their safety.

Traveler Nick Richardson (@nickr5777) was shocked after finding nearly a dozen passengers hurling chairs, yelling, and tackling each other in the food court of the Carnival Paradise cruise ship.

Richardson claimed he wanted to get some pizza from the Carnival cruise food court but instead encountered the violent brawl escalating, with security personnel responding to the scene. “I just want some pizza,” the traveler repeated throughout the video.

Sadly, when Nick approached a couple of shocked employees, he commented, “Welcome to America. This is how it is in America,” referring to the unacceptable guest behavior.

Unruly guest behavior seems to be an increasing problem across the United States, with theme parks like Disneyland, Disney World, and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay becoming some of the most recent examples.

Richardson’s video lasted over six minutes, but the altercation likely started before the passenger arrived at the food court and started recording.

A version of the video had been posted on TikTok, but Nick (@rizzarioman123) mentioned that the social platform had removed it due to its community guidelines. However, Richardson posted a second video directing netizens to his YouTube channel to view the incident.

Viewers were outraged by the fight, with many attacking Carnival Cruise Line. One viewer commented, “Wow! What total disrespect! That’s what’s wrong with this country. Who do they think they are? I hope they were fined and thrown off!”

Another user boldly stated: “So I am here to find out what happened afterwards? Did they drop them off at the next port and tell them to find their own way home??”

However, many took the scene with humor, commenting they hoped the traveler got his pizza after the incident.

@CollinRugg shared part of Nick’s video on X (formerly known as Twitter), adding that Carnival had released a statement addressing the incident, saying that the passengers involved had been fined and permanently banned from sailing aboard the company’s ships.

43-year-old passenger Nick Richardson said he was going to get some pizza when he walked into a war zone.

“Those girls were already set on what they were gonna do. It just got out of hand very, very quickly. And that’s how it happens. You’re just drinking too much,” Richardson said.

Carnival released a statement about the incident, saying the guests involved were fined and are banned from sailing again.

“As is our policy, we will not tolerate such behavior and the guests involved were fined and will not sail on Carnival Cruise Line again,” they said.
