Reports released today see theme parks closed due to inclement weather. Is a beloved Disney Park next?
It seems all anyone can talk about are the tropical storms hitting the East Coast right now, forcing closures, and impacting hard-earned vacations in places like the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. But the Most Magical Place on Earth isn’t the only Disney Resort that could face challenges due to dangerous weather conditions.

While it’s no Hurricane Ian, a major storm is sweeping through Southern California, bringing heavy rain upon the people of Los Angeles and the surrounding cities of Los Angeles and Orange County (both theme park hubs). With the heavy barrage of water, roads, walkways, and other systems at the Parks are becoming dangerously slick.
Neighboring theme park Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, CA announced today via their social media that they would be closing due to inclement weather conditions in Orange County:

It’s likely this decision comes as a result of safety procedures for operating attractions when wet, as well as for the health and comfort of both Park staff and Guests. In the past, similar locations such as Sea World San Diego have closed alongside Knott’s, though the House of Mouse typically remains open during rainstorms.

Knott’s has yet to clarify the exact reasons for the closure, and as of now, the Disneyland Resort has not made any statement indicating they plan to do the same, though certain Disney outdoor attractions and entertainment usually cease operation while rainfall is occurring.
However, it is always possible that circumstances may change throughout the day. Prospective Guests should check the official Disneyland Resort website, app, or social media channels for real-time updates on closures.
Arrivals to the Disney Park are still required to present both Park Reservations and accompanying admission to receive entry. Will you be braving the rain for the magic of the Happiest Place on Earth?
