Disney Tips Your Guide To A Great Disney Vacation
The Walt Disney World Resort is nearly back to normal following restrictions put in place at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, one of the major aspects of the Resort that is still altered is the refurbishment schedule with Disney’s water parks.
Both Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach water parks typically close for refurbishments (one at a time) each winter, with both Parks open during the summer months. This year, only Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon has been open since January, making this a rather unique summer in the operation of Walt Disney World with only one water park open for the first time since Typhoon Lagoon first opened in 1989.
With work continuing on Disney’s Blizzard Beach, new aerial photos have recently been shared that give us some insight into the current state of the Disney Park.

The latest aerial photos of Disney’s Blizzard Beach by @bioreconstruct on Twitter show construction in progress with a crane situated on the site of the popular Disney Park, along with confirmation that the previously photographed work on the Teamboat Springs attraction looks to be complete.

Teamboat Spring is one of the most iconic attractions at Disney’s Blizzard Beach, along with the likes of Summit Plummet and Melt-Away Bay, the Park’s wave pool, but this one comes with the unique distinction of being the longest family raft ride in the world.
Back in June, Disney began work on replacing sections of the slide at Teamboat Springs, which according to the latest aerial photos an the site of the crane, appears to be complete:

The refurbishment of Disney’s Blizzard Beach will likely continue through the remainder of the summer as permits were recently filed for work on Melt-Away Bay. While it does not appear that substantial aesthetic work will take place on the Park’s wave pool, maintenance may be needed behind the scenes ahead of the Park’s next season.

Disney has not yet announced a reopening date for Blizzard Beach; however, Typhoon Lagoon water park remains open for Guests during this time. Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon is currently one of the best last-minute experiences at Walt Disney World because visiting this water park does not require a reservation like the other four theme parks.
