There are just so many things changing in Walt Disney World nowadays.

With Guest favorites returning like the Festival of Fantasy Parade at the Magic Kingdom, and the grand opening of EPCOT’s Connections Cafe and Eatery, it seems like we get a new surprise every day. As we all know by now, EPCOT has another huge opening coming soon and Disney Tips has a fun little fact about the Cast Member costumes of this new addition.

As we get closer to Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind opening to the public on May 27, 2022, many Cast Members, Annual Pass Holders, and Disney Vacation Club Members have been given an early preview of the highly anticipated attraction. For that reason, a ton of information has been trickling out.

A couple of weeks ago, Disney showed all of us what the new Nova Corps uniforms will look like. Well, just in time for Earth Day, Disney has recently released some new information about the costumes that our beloved Cast Members will be wearing and how terra-friendly these uniforms are.

The most obvious part of the new Nova Corp uniforms is their deep blue hues, which were inspired by the life-giving waters on the Planet of Xandar and the importance of those waters to the Xandarians. Disney has now revealed that the base fabric for these Cosmic Rewind uniforms is made up of 70% recycled materials.

That’s impressive, but that’s not the only part of these stunning costumes made from recycled materials. You may have previously noticed the metal buttons on the shoulder pads of these new uniforms, but did you know that they are made from 75% of recycled metal? Even the red three-armed star insignia on the Nova Corps uniform is made up of 95% recycled PVC.

Every part of these stunning uniforms has been designed with the idea of reducing their “Xandarian footprint,” which we think you would agree, is setting a great example for us on Earth.

Walt Disney World not only made these Nova Corps uniforms sustainable, but they also took the Cast Members’ comfort into consideration. As we all know, Florida can get pretty hot, so they made these uniforms with vents and a lightweight feel, which for the Xandarian Emissaries will be comfortable while performing their interstellar missions.

We will keep an eye out for any new tidbits that may come out on the new “out of this world” attraction at EPCOT theme park in Walt Disney World.
