Another Disney Character Takes a Tumble at Disney World

A Disney character fell in one of the Parks at Walt Disney World, but they are okay! It’s important to preface that first and foremost, as it’s not funny for anyone to get injured. At Disney Parks, Guests are lucky enough to meet some of their favorite characters. At meet and greet locations, Guests can snap a photo with Mickey Mouse and Friends, Disney Princesses, and some special Guests who pop up here and there.

Disney characters, whether walking around the Parks or stationed at a photo spot, are always accompanied by a Cast Member in case of assistance. They are often there to keep order with the Guests, like forming a line and waiting their turn to hug their favorite character. This week, we reported that Figment had fallen at his meet and greet on the second day the meet and greet was available at EPCOT. The truth is, although Disney characters are a wonderful addition to the Park, they are still human beings. I know, I know, we don’t want to ruin the magic! But for those Cast Members who opt-in to be characters in full suits like a Minnie Mouse costume, it can get quiet warm in there.

Recently, a Disney Guest uploaded Winnie the Pooh falling at Walt Disney World to Instagram. Located in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom, Guests can meet Winnie the Pooh and Tigger at The Thotful Spot.

Winnie the Pooh Takes a Tumble

As shown in the video, Tigger was quick to help Pooh back to his feet. Alongside Tigger, Cast Members jumped in and escorted Winnie the Pooh out of the area. Although Disney didn’t comment on the fall, Pooh got up immediately and kept on walking arm in arm with the Cast Member.

Our first hope is that the Cast Member inside the suit was okay. Even though the video caption writes, “Pooh fell, but he’s okay,” he, of course, couldn’t articulate that to Guests. In the comment section of the post, many Disney fans wrote how hot the suits can get and become dangerous to the Cast Members inside. Additionally, they noted how characters try so hard to keep the magic going and go on acting like all is fine, even if it is not.

One fan commented, “These poor characters. They fall or hurt themselves somehow. But nope. Keep your head on.” Another wrote, “I can’t imagine how the people inside the costume are feeling right now in this heat.” It seems pretty clear Guests and fans alike just want reassurance that the Cast Members are being taken care of when situations like this happen. And furthermore, that they are okay!

We all love the magic Disney provides and the Cast Members who work so hard to keep that alive. As the beloved character once said, “You’re braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think,” which may be what Cast Members say to themselves during tough situations while working.
