As a Disney Guest, there are many perks to your vacation. The options could be endless depending on the type of experience you want. Staying on Disney property at a Disney Resort Hotel certainly increases the perks you can have. So does opting into a dining plan, purchasing a Disney package, utilizing the Disney app, Genie+, and much more.

With all of these perks, one of the biggest and most broad perks to all Disney  Guests is the MagicBand. MagicBands are a useful way to have everything at the tips of your fingers or your wrist (really). Any Guest visiting the Parks can purchase a MagicBand and use it in various ways. Your MagicBand can be your Park ticket, with a quick scan of the wrist at the entrance.

Guests’ enhanced experience with using a MagicBand makes it one less thing to worry about or plan during a Disney vacation. As we know, there are many moving parts for a successful Disney trip. Additionally, there are a lot of things you may need to bring with you to the Parks, especially if you have children. MagicBand makes it easy to swipe your ticket and even your credit card by attaching it to your account. Your MagicBand can be your ticket, wallet, or lightning lane entry, leaving your hands free for a Mickey-shaped pretzel and cheese!

Magic Key-Themed Magicband+

Magic Key is a Passholder at Disneyland Resort. “When you’re a Magic Key holder, the Disneyland Resort is your land—you’re a townsperson on Main Street, U.S.A., a galactic citizen of Batuu, a hero at Avengers Campus, a local at Pixar Pier and beyond. You belong to the community of core Disneyland fans who all share a passion and love for the parks,” Disney writes.

As a part of the Magic Key program, Guests have admission opportunities, pricing options, experiences, and savings on food, beverages, and merchandise. Now, the newest “perk” is the Magicband+, which is Magic-Key themed.

The offer is available at select locations in Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, and Downtown Disney District. While the offer seemed exciting, fans took to the comment section of X, expressing their opinions. It seems that the offer is not all it’s cracked up to be and not at all what Disneyland Guests are interested in obtaining.

One Disney fan wrote, “The problem with MagicBands at Disneyland is that they’re essentially useless. I can’t afford Genie+ every time I visit the parks, so the ONLY time I use it is to scan into the park.” A second fan commented on Scott Gustin’s post, “It would be more useful if we could pay with it. Even if you don’t stay at one of the hotels, I only use mine for entrance or photo pass. WDW, it’s amazing and useful.”

It is not uncommon that perks and Disney offers are compared between Walt Disney World and Disneyland. Fans often want equality in the offers, but they do not always come to fruition. Furthermore, it seems pretty clear Guests just want the same perks the MagicBand can offer across the board, making it the easy hands-free access they experience at Disney World.
