Hidden Mickeys: sometimes as difficult to find as an empty table in the West Wing of Be Our Guest Restaurant, sometimes cheekily placed in plain sight, but always delightful!

What began as an inside joke many years ago has grown into one of the most beloved elements of a vacation to Walt Disney World.

Guests can find Hidden Mickeys – that is, hidden images of Mickey Mouse (and occasionally other Disney characters) – throughout Disney’s Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom Parks.

But did you know that they can also be found in Disney Springs? So keep your eyes peeled, because you never know when you’ll stumble upon a Hidden Mickey

Splitsville

Disney Springs, for the uninitiated, is a mammoth entertainment, shopping, and dining complex where Guests can enjoy a variety of activities, including chowing down on the best cookies of life at Gideon’s Bakehouse, hopping on a vintage amphicar for a spin around the lake at The BOATHOUSE, and dining among animatronic dinosaurs dodging regular meteor showers at T-REX Café.

One of the family-friendly activities Guests can enjoy is a friendly game of bowling at Splitsville Luxury Lanes.

Inside, take a look at the upper-level painted mural on the wall. You’ll see a gigantic orange featuring a classic Hidden Mickey, with three bowling-ball-esque black circles that clearly form Mickey’s head.

It’s not exactly hidden, to be fair, but it’s a great way to ease into the sport of Hidden Mickey hunting!

Between Starbucks and DisneyStyle

We know there’s a lot to see at Disney Springs, but don’t get so caught up in the magic that you forget to look down, or you just might miss a Hidden Mickey.

You’ll find that Disney Springs is divided into four distinct neighborhoods, and for our next discovery, you’ll want to be in West Side.

Head to DisneyStyle, a great boutique shop with adorable fashion-forward Disney-themed accessories and clothing, and once you’ve picked up a few souvenirs, start walking to nearby Starbucks, making sure you keep your eyes on the ground.

You’ll soon find a subtle Hidden Mickey built right into the ground, formed out of stones that are larger and darker than those around them, clearly depicting a classic Mickey shape.

Enzo’s Hideaway Tunnel Bar and Restaurant

This next Hidden Mickey isn’t the easiest to spot, but – perhaps because we’re singers – it’s one of our favorites in all of Disney Springs.

It’s found at Enzo’s Hideaway Tunnel Bar and Restaurant at The Landing, a prohibition-era-themed speakeasy bar that has a surprisingly extensive food menu, as well as all of those fabulous signature drinks.

As you’re walking along the passageway to get to the bar, you’ll see a little nook filled with crates and shelves of alcohol. There’s a sign above that welcomes you to the Hideaway, and above that, several bars of music. If you look at the last bar of music, you’ll see that the top note has grown a pair of Mickey ears!  This Hidden Mickey is tiny but makes an adorable photo op.

World of Disney

Whether you’re looking for an elusive souvenir, the perfect gift for a friend or family member, or you just want to revel in the joy of the largest Disney merchandise store in the world, your destination should be the World of Disney store in Disney Springs.

You’ll find all things Disney here, including the Celebration Collection, if you want to commemorate Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary.

You’ll also find a Hidden Mickey or two here, if you can tear your eyes from the treasure trove of Disney gems for sale.  Find the Women’s Apparel room (the entire colossal store is divided into rooms to help Guests find what they’re looking for), and look up.

Can you find Toy Story’s Jessie, on a ceiling panel? Look at the bottom of her right (your left) pant leg, and you’ll see a tiny black spot that is more than just a spot – it’s a definite classic Hidden Mickey.

Disney PhotoPass Studio

We never really need an excuse for a visit to Ghirardelli Ice Cream and Chocolate Shop, with its unsurpassed hot chocolate and delectable ice cream concoctions – but when there’s a Hidden Mickey next door, it’s a perfect reason for a visit!

Head to the Marketplace area of Disney Springs to the Disney PhotoPass Studio beside Ghirardelli’s for this one.

There are pillars flanking the counter inside the studio, and if you look closely, you’ll see the outline of Mickey’s head on both of them. Despite renovations, the images have survived – hurray for Hidden Mickeys!

Cirque du Soleil Theatre

One of the most highly anticipated new experiences of our upcoming trip to Walt Disney World is the new Drawn to Life show at the Cirque du Soleil Theatre in Disney Springs.

It’s a collaboration between Disney and Cirque du Soleil, and features a brilliant combination of Disney animation, acrobatics and choreography, innovative sets and costumes, and even a new score.

There’s also a Hidden Mickey on site! It’s in the men’s bathroom, located near the theater entrance. In an unassuming corner of the bathroom, Guests can find the unmistakable three black circles that form a classic Hidden Mickey, standing out in contrast against the white tile.

We’re not sure if the women’s bathroom has a similar Hidden Mickey, but there’s only one way to find out!

Bottom Line

When you think about Disney Springs, you probably think about dining, shopping, and entertainment, and rightfully so.

But Disney Springs is also a wonderful place to go hunting for Hidden Mickeys!  They can be anywhere, made of any material, and any size.  So grab the family, put on a comfortable pair of shoes, and let the search begin!
