The newest attraction coming to EPCOT is nearly here, and we cannot control our excitement much longer. Inspired by the adventurous film Moana (2016), EPCOT has been under construction as the attraction nears completion. EPCOT’s attraction Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, is set to open in late 2023. With it being almost September, Disney fans are eager to see the walls come down and get a sneak peek at what’s inside.

But before Guests can get a look of their own, Disney Cast Members are getting the first experience. The self-guided outside trail is located in World Nature in EPCOT, where water and nature come together for an immersive experience. Inside the Magic says, “The Disney World crew started testing the ride around June, so they’re getting things all sorted.”

What’s more, the official date has yet to be posted, but it is worth nothing that Cast Members will be getting sneak peeks through the month of September. With that theory, that may mean Guests will not have access to the attraction until potentially October. “The scoop is that the next round of these cast member previews is set for September 1 to September 22, 2023,” Inside the Magic reports.

So, as we patiently wait for our own preview, Cast Members got a look and were kind enough to share it with us on the Disney Parks X account. Take a look at the short clip below!

Journey of Water, Inspired by ‘Moana’

The newest sneak peek shows interactive experiences with music and water as the Cast Members walk through the area. “The EPCOT neighborhood is dedicated to understanding and preserving the beauty and balance of the natural world,” Disney wrote, which makes perfect sense being inspired by the daring teen. Guests can expect to find three experiences,

  • Water Is a Friend: Moana befriended the ocean… and you can, too! Enjoy magical encounters with water and discover its playful personality, just as Moana did on her heroic voyage.
  • Water Connects Us All: All water is connected—and it connects us to one another. As you traverse this trail, you’ll connect and interact with water in new ways. And you’ll learn about the global water cycle, which takes water on a wondrous adventure around our planet.
  • Water Needs Protection: Throughout your journey, you’ll learn how you can help protect this precious natural resource and make a positive impact on the world.

Again, Disney doesn’t disappoint with the description of the attraction or getting us excited for its opening.
