If I Were In Charge Of Walt Disney World For One Day Here Are 10 Things I Would Do

It would be so much fun to be in charge of Walt Disney World for one day!  If that were to ever happen, then there are 10 things that I would do to enhance the day for all of the guests at the parks:

10. Open up the Cinderella Suite for guest tours.

I know that I have always wanted to see what the inside of the suite looks like in person!  It would probably cross an item off of several guests’ bucket list if this were to happen, so it would definitely be one of the first things that I would do.  I would even pick a deserving family to stay in it overnight.

9. Lots of free food samples.

Disney has some of the most delicious food and we can’t get enough of it.  I would definitely want to give out lot of treat and food samples so that more guests can enjoy the delicious food for themselves.  It is almost impossible to try everything in a single vacation, but we can try!

8. Increase the number of FastPass+ selections for guests.

Guests are given 3 FastPass+ selections in advance and then after those are used they can add another FastPass+ selection as long as there is availability.  I would increase the amount of FastPass+ selections that are available so that guests can book even more up front.

7. Bring back many of the discontinued parades.

I was a huge fan of the parades that used to take place around the different theme parks.  I would bring back a parade to each of the theme parks rather than just having the afternoon parade at Magic Kingdom.  I would also bring back the SpectroMagic nighttime parade at Magic Kingdom.  I absolutely loved SpectroMagic and was so sad when it was discontinued forever.

6. Give out merchandise freebies every hour.

I would create fun games and activities to give out merchandise freebies every hour.  It would be a way for the cast members to create even more magic for guests.  Guests love freebies and it would definitely be magical to receive some of the amazing Disney merchandise!

5. Bring out all of the rare characters for meet and greets.

There are so many characters that we would love the opportunity to meet in the parks that we don’t often get to.  There are many characters that only appear during special events or were only out for a limited time.  I would bring all of the characters out for the day so that guests can meet and greet with any character that they want.

4. Keep the parks open for 24 hour events.

I have never been able to attend one of the rare 24 hour events, so I would create that opportunity for guests so that more guests could have this experience.  I would look to create this at each of the parks so that guests could spend the entire day enjoying their favorite park.

3. Install live feeds where guests from around the world can spy on the action at Walt Disney World all the time.

It would be so awesome to be able to get a glimpse at rides, shows and other activities each day at the parks.  I would install live feeds around each of the parks, especially around popular attractions and shows so that guests can tune into the action from around the world to tide them over until their next vacation.

2. Free lunch for all cast members.

The cast members work extremely hard to create magic for all of us each and every day.  I would want to reward each of them with a free lunch during their shift.  It would be a lunch of their choosing so that they get exactly what they want for their meal.

1. Make all of the characters “talking” characters.

I would make all of the characters “talk” so that the meet and greet experiences are even more immersive, no matter which character guests are interacting with.  This would be a lot of work, but it would be extremely worth it for the magic that it would bring to guests.

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
