Get your Disco moves ready and your Conga line going!

We’re only a couple of weeks away from the opening day of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Many Cast Members, Annual Pass Holders, and Disney Vacation Club Members have already been given an early preview of the highly anticipated attraction, and the reviews seem to be mainly positive.

The new Walt Disney World ride opens soon on May 27, 2022, and now we finally know how the attraction’s line will work.

At EPCOT’s Wonders of Xandar pavilion, Star-Lord, Groot, Rocket Raccoon, Drax, and other Guardians of the Galaxy characters from the MCU will appear in the eagerly-awaited coaster Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, and Glenn Close have been confirmed to reprise their roles of Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, and Nova-Prime Irani Rael, respectively.

The highly-anticipated Cosmic Rewind attraction will be the Walt Disney World Resort’s first reverse-launch roller coaster and one of the world’s longest enclosed roller coasters, with what we expect to be Disney’s famous level of theming.

With so much anticipation surrounding the new EPCOT attraction as well as the Disney World theme park being fully booked for Park Pass reservations on opening day, many Disney Guests have debated whether Disney would reintroduce a virtual queue. Well, Scott Gustin on Twitter has now confirmed that the ride will not have a standby line when it opens:

NEW: When Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT opens, a virtual queue will be in place. A regular standby queue will not be available.

Individual Lightning Lane will also be offered.

When Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind opens at the Walt Disney World Resort this May, it will utilize a virtual queue system instead of a traditional standby line.

Remember the days of anxiously trying to secure a boarding group in the morning? Well, it seems those days of being quick-fingered are returning.

Walt Disney World removed the virtual queue system at popular attractions like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT when Disney Genie, Disney Genie+, and Individual Lightning Lane reservations launched.

Disney has not yet revealed what the price point will be when Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is offered through the Disney Genie+ and a la carte Lightning Lane selections, but more information on that should release ahead of the attraction’s May 27 opening day.
