Stroll on over with us to EPCOT where Guests are flooding in to experience previews of Walt Disney World Resort’s newest attraction, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. And while reviews of the new coaster are incredible, Disney is working to adapt to complaints surrounding the new ride.

In the midst of EPCOT’s transformation into four neighborhoods, we’ve been thrilled to see the success come out of the World Discovery neighbor with the ever-so-popular Space 220 Restaurant and now the attraction of a lifetime, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

Even though the attraction doesn’t officially open to the public until Memorial Day Weekend (May 27, 2022), Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members have received invites to experience the soft opening prior to the grand debut.

While Walt Disney Imagineering boasted a stunning queue for Cosmic Rewind, what seemed to have been forgotten was the length of the standby queue space. The hiccup? The popular attraction’s indoor queue only holds about 30 minutes worth of wait time for Disney Guests.

It’s common for a Disney attraction to go over a 30-minute wait, especially new attractions which can boast hours of wait times. But, Disney seemed to slip up in planning for the crowds.

Instead, Disney Park Guests will find themselves pushed outside of the Cosmic Rewind building, standing directly in the Florida sunshine. @ThrillGeek took to social media with a brief video of the outdoor line:

What’s the fix? Well, the video above was taken on May 8. Disney caught on quickly as by May 11, Disney fan @ParallelDisney posted a photo of rows of umbrellas to help shelter Guests from the Florida sun:

Keep in mind, that when the Disney coaster officially opens it will be a virtual queue and individual Lightning Lane selection only. Disney will not offer a standby line. We still suspect that even with a boarding group scenario that the wait may take Guests out of the 30-minute interior queue so plan to bring sunscreen, hats, and water this summer when experiencing the new attraction.
