A video recently taken at Disney Parks has worked its way into viewers’ hearts. The footage portrays an interaction between a Disney character and a nonverbal autistic child, and it is touching, to say the least.
Suzy is one of the mice from the classic animated film Cinderella (1950). Adorned in an adorable blue dress and matching blue bonnet, the character appears at a table in Disneyland Park, where the young boy is sitting.
Set to a touching soundtrack from Inside Out (2015), the music makes the interaction all the more emotional. The TikTok opens with the character holding hands with the young boy, who is wearing headphones and enjoying a hearty Disney breakfast of Mickey Waffles.
As if the sight of them holding hands isn’t enough to start the waterworks, the Cast Member pulls out the chair, blocking her way, and kneels down to the boy’s eye level. The child sweetly moves his head towards the character and kisses her nose!
@vanessa_maria_90 This was definitely a core memory for us 🥰 my son is autistic and non verbal and this was amazing he had so much fun #OLAFLEX #DoritosDareToBeBurned #corememories #corememoryunlocked #corememoryatdisney #disney #disneyland #autismawareness #autismdisney #disneywithautism #disneywithkids #autistic #autismdisneyfamily #autismdisneytips
At this point, the Cast Member seems taken back, but she plays it off by putting a hand over her mouth as if shy. The adorable boy smiles and grabs the mouse’s nose, which brings to mind a completely different character interaction we covered earlier today between a young man and Olaf.
The boy utters some sounds, and the Cinderella character claps in response. As he continues to touch her nose, she mirrors some of the boy’s movements, maintaining eye contact all the while.
As the boy grabs her hands to make her clap, the mouse plays along, much to the excitement of the young fellow. The character spends a lot of quality one-on-one time with him, giving her full attention to the moment.
When the video ends, the Cast Member hasn’t even left yet! She continued to interact with the Guest. A fellow Disney employee, @irisluvrhino, replied in the comments section, “Hi, I’m the Castmember at the Main Entrance of Disneyland that took the pictures for your family. My heart just melted with this video.”
It doesn’t get any sweeter than this! The boy’s mother exclaimed that it was a core memory for her and her son and that he had so much fun. What a special moment! Be honest, did you shed a tear?
