Disney Cruise Line Confirms the Delay of This Experience Aboard the Disney Wish

Disney Cruise Line is preparing to launch its newest ship, the Disney Wish, which sets sail for her maiden voyage out of Port Canaveral very soon on July 14, 2022. While most of the ship is ready for its first official cruise, one experience onboard has officially been delayed, with Disney Cruise Line sending emails out to Guests booked on her first two sailings.

In addition to enhanced spaces exclusively for kids, teens and tweens, and adults, the Disney Wish will set sail with new dining experiences, a gorgeous shopping district, exciting bars, lounges, and nightlife, and an array of Broadway-style live performances.

Included in the ship’s stage show lineup is Disney The Little Mermaid, a brand new reimagining of the classic 1989 Walt Disney Animation Studios film, Disney Seas the Adventure, a new story featuring favorite Disney characters, and Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular, with the latter opening about two weeks into sailings on the Disney Wish.

Guests who have cruises booked for the maiden voyage of the new Disney cruise ship this week, along with the following cruise departing on July 19, 2022 have received an email alerting them to the delay of Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular.

Meghan Berry, @DCL_CRUISE_NERD on Twitter, shared a screenshot of the emails that Disney is sending out to Guests on affected sailings:

If you have previously sailed on the Disney Fantasy, you may be familiar with Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular, which offers a breathtaking theatrical performance following the story of the 1992 animated film.

Disney’s Aladdin: A Musical Spectacularis also an updated version of the show that once performed in Disney California Adventure. The show was extremely popular with Guests visiting the Disneyland Resort, which closed in 2016 to make way for Frozen – Live at the Hyperion.

Currently only the July 14 and July 19 sailings on the Disney Wish have cancelled performances of Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular, with later cruises so far scheduled to include this show on their itineraries. The ship’s other two performances, Disney The Little Mermaid, and Disney Seas the Adventure will still open as planned with the ship’s maiden voyage.

The Disney Wish is departing out of Port Canaveral, FL for three-four night Bahamian cruises with stops at Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island. Complete information and booking details for sails aboard the new Disney cruise ship are available at DisneyCruiseLine.com.
