Disney news and EPCOT go hand in hand these days! As EPCOT continues its massive transformation, construction is evident throughout the Disney Park. The construction will all be worth it, however, as new and exciting experiences are popping up around every corner. Here’s the latest on a new EPCOT experience coming soon!

EPCOT is no longer divided by Future World and World Showcase but now has four neighborhoods, including World Celebration, World Discovery, World Nature, and World Showcase. World Discovery is home to the new Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. World Celebration is preparing to welcome a new Walt statue near Spaceship Earth. And World Nature is a construction site as Walt Disney Imagineers create Journey of Water Inspired by Moana.
All the while, World Showcase has remained steadfast with new additions such as Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. But, as you travel the World Showcase, the 11 pavilions will be experienced in a new way… a DuckTales way!

Remember the former Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure, which featured characters from the popular animated series Phineas and Ferb? This experience allowed Guests to travel around the World Showcase with a F.O.N.E. (Field Operative Notification Equipment). This handheld device allowed Guests to interact with the pavilions as they sought to help Agent P (AKA Perry the Platypus) battle against the villainous Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz.
With the push of a button, portions of the World Showcase would interact with the Guest for a fun, scavenger hunt experience for all ages. In 2019, it was announced a replacement was on the way… and now, we’re learning DuckTales are rolling in by the end of the year!
@ScottGustin took to social media to share, “Walt Disney World confirms DuckTales World Showcase Adventure is coming to EPCOT later this year.”
Why DuckTales? The original Disney DuckTales series first aired in 1987, featuring characters such as Donald Duck, Scrooge McDuck, and nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie. A DuckTales reboot later came in 2017. The show’s popularity expands to multiple age groups making it an excellent choice for EPCOT’s World Showcase.
With the news of the action-packed and adventurous series coming to Walt Disney World Resort, Frank Angones, co-creator of the DuckTales reboot, shared, “Man, it was tremendous fun bringing all of our favorites out of the toybox for this one. Can’t wait to actually experience it in person!”

Matt Youngberg, co-creator and executive producer of the DuckTales reboot, also took to social media to share his excitement, “The crew of Ducktales was heavily involved in this. I can’t wait to go see it in person! So much work on our side and on the amazing imagineers’ side to put it all together.”
We do suspect instead of Disney offering handheld devices as they did for Agent P, Guests will have the option to play DuckTales World Showcase Adventure right from their phones via Play Disney Parks, much like the Play Disney Parks experience in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
