Disney Pin Trading has been a long-standing Disney collection that is still very popular amongst Guests. It’s a Disney collection that has outlived other collections such as Disney Vinylmation, and is more popular than others such as Disney Pressed Pennies. 

The Disney Pin Trading collection is ever evolving. New open-edition pins are released each year throughout the year, in addition to Hidden Mickey collections. Limited-edition pins also keep Disney fans collecting; they often feature unusual characters, or commemorate special events such as the EPCOT International Festivals and party events in Magic Kingdom. Seasonal Resort pins are also a popular collection for Disney Pin Trading fans to seek out. 

It’s not just in and around the Disney Parks and Resorts that Disney Pins are available to purchase. Guests visiting other Disney Resorts such as Aulani and Vero Beach Resort, can purchase pins to remember their visit by. Disney Cruise Line pins are also available on each of the 5 Disney cruise ships, and during Halloween and Christmas, limited edition pins are released for Halloween on the High Seas and Very Merrytime Cruise.

Disney ONE Family Pin Trading Event

For several years now, Disney Parks have hosted Disney Pin Trading events, that allow Guests to pin trade with each other, and showcase their collections. As expected with special Disney events, there is usually special merchandise available to purchase, that comes in the form of special-edition pins. 

This year’s Disney Pin Trading event is just around the corner. Taking place from August 11 through August 13, 2022, the Disney ONE Family Pin Trading Event is set to celebrate family and the magical, timeless, incredible and inclusive bonds that it brings. It’s a chance for pin enthusiasts to gather at an exciting event that will offer special pin trading opportunities and experiences. 

To attend the Disney ONE Family Pin Celebration Event, Guests are required to purchase an admission package. Registration for this exclusive event opened just last month, on June 7. There were two packages available for this years Disney Pin Trading event in the Walt Disney World Resort: the Traditions package; and the ‘Ohana package. Whilst the ‘Ohana package, which is the most expensive of the two available, at $275 per Guest, is no longer available due to selling out, Guests are still able to purchase the Traditions package.

The Traditions Package

Available for $175 per Guest, this package provides access to the ONE Family Pin Celebration Event across three days. Unfortunately, Guests who purchase the package now will have missed the Random Selection Process, that took place through to July 4. This entitled Guests selected to purchase event pins prior to the rest of the event. However, Guests purchasing the Traditions package will still have access to the rest of the activities that the event entails, including:

• Access to the trading area on August 11, held at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort Convention Center. This is also where pre-registration takes place.

• Admission to the ONE Family Pin Celebration Event in EPCOT World ShowPlace on August 12 and 13. Guests will also require valid theme park admission on both days to attend the event, but will not require separate theme park reservations.

• Access to the trading area on August 12 and 13 at EPCOT World ShowPlace.
• Four Pin Trading Tabs per event day, allowing 8 opportunities to take part in Trading Activities.
• Opportunity to meet Disney Pin Partners and preview upcoming pin releases.
• Different panels including Pin Artist Signings and Disney Artist Panel.
• Plenty of photo opportunities as well as complimentary photo downloads.
• ONE Family Activity Booklet.
• Downloadable background art to commemorate the event.
• Limited Edition Commemorative Gifts, worth $90, including: a Welcome Pin; Goodbye Pin; Acrylic Tumbler; and Lanyard with Credential.

We wonder if this package for the Disney Pin Trading event is in honor of the initial induction process that Disney Cast Members participate in when joining the Walt Disney Company. Cast Members around the globe participate whether they are becoming a Cast Member for the Disney Parks and Resorts around the World, with Disney Cruise Line or becoming an adventure guide for Adventures by Disney, take part in Disney Traditions.

Guests attending the 2022 Disney Pin Trading Celebration will be visiting EPCOT at a great time. With the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival having just started, Guests should be able to enjoy some of the delicious food and drink offerings in between the Pin Trading events. EPCOT World ShowPlace is located between the United Kingdom and Canada Pavilions in World Showcase. As such, some of the Festival Booths will be located only a short walk from the Pin Trading fun that they are taking part in.
