The New Disney Springs Experience You Won’t Want To Miss

Disney Springs is a must-visit for any Guest vacationing in the Walt Disney World Resort. Guests can shop for popular Disney merchandise, as well as world-famous brands, wine and dine in popular restaurants, and enjoy local musical talent at the many stages placed around the neighborhoods of Disney Springs.

The experiences aren’t limited to shopping and eating at Disney Springs either. Guests can watch a movie in the AMC Dine-In Theatres, experience Drawn To Life by Cirque Du Soleil & Disney, participate in a game of bowling or two at SplitsVille or take a ride in an Amphicar across Village Lake. And if that wasn’t enough, then Guests who don’t mind heights can take in a unique view of Walt Disney World and its surrounding areas by taking a flight on the Aerophile balloon located on the West Side of Disney Springs.

Visiting the Disney shopping and dining district at different times of the day can offer unique Guest experiences. Mornings offer a relaxed pace, when there are fewer crowds; evenings come alive with more Guests visiting, music to listen to and food and beverages to enjoy.

A New Experience

Until recently, there were only a few locations to admire artwork around Walt Disney World:

  • Disney’s Riviera Resort showcases many beautiful art pieces throughout its Guest areas, including the iconic mosaic pieces that feature in the walkway to the Disney Skyliner.
  • For Guests visiting EPCOT in January and February, they are lucky enough to experience the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts; the newest Festival to be featured in the Disney Park, that celebrates the Visual Arts.
  • Whether you are a Guest staying in Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, or just simply passing through the lobby whilst exploring the Disney Resort, you can’t help but stop to admire the stunning illustrations that fill the wall space of Animation Hall.
  • If you’re anything like us, you love to stop by the Disney art stores around the Walt Disney World Resort, to admire the stunning artwork, statues and animation sketches that are available for Guests to purchase. We could easily spend an hour browsing The Art of Disney in Disney Springs or the Main Street Cinema in Magic Kingdom.

That is until now…

In May of this year, the Walt Disney Company announced a new feature that would be coming to Disney Springs – Disney Springs Art Walk: A Canvas of Expression.

Art Walk: A Canvas of Expression

The Disney Springs Art Walk has arrived at the shopping and dining district, and let’s just say that the art pieces are truly stunning. Just yesterday, Disney Parks shared images of some of the art pieces that are being showcased around Disney Springs, and we cannot wait to see them for ourselves, in person.

Located in Town Center, Guests are treated to new and vibrant displays that have been created by talented artists. This new experience celebrates local artists as well as those from around the World, who are invited to create murals, filled with color, emotion and spirit that is representative of their culture.

Current Featured Artists

There are currently 6 artists whose art work is featured on the Disney Springs Art Walk: A Canvas of Expression in Lake Buena Vista.

Stacey Aoyama, an illustrator and designer, who currently works for the Disney Consumer Products has created an art piece with her husband, that spans across 4 archways. Stacey’s husband, Eric Tan, is also a designer for Disney Consumer Products. Their piece of art is inspired by artists’ families, paying homage to the journeys from the Philippines, Japan and France, that they have taken to build their lives in America.

Chad Mize, who is a multimedia artist, designer and muralist, handprinted his art piece featured in Disney Springs in person. Talk about kicking off the Art Walk with a bang! His piece, known as “SAY IT WITHOUT SAYING IT”, is inspired by himself, and is filled with color, with the aim of inspiring and uplifting the Guests viewing it.

Dan Corona’s art piece is the newest to be added to Town Center at Disney Springs, and is set to be a favorite of Disney Guests. Dan has been a part of the Disney Creators Lab since 2021, and uses color in an explosive and unique style. He has done just that in creating the “Proud Original” art piece in the Disney Springs Art Walk. Don’t miss this chance to see Mickey Mouse in a beautiful new way, that aims to encourage every Guest to embrace their true being and appreciate their self-worth.

How Long Do You Have To Experience The Art Walk?

As of yet, the Walt Disney Company have not confirmed a date as to when they expect the Disney Springs Art Walk to finish. Instead, they have suggested that it is something that will continue to grow over time, as new artists are invited to add their artwork to the walls of Town Center. It is exciting to think that the Town Center will become an ever-changing and vibrant neighbourhood of Disney Springs, offering something new for those Guests who frequently visit.

Make time during your next Disney vacation to visit Disney Springs and experience the unique art pieces that have been created in Town Center. We can’t wait to see the Art Walk in person!
