Summer Crowds Are Coming! Disney World Park Hours Extended in June & July

Walt Disney World is gearing up for a busy summer at the theme parks and resorts, and park hours have already been extended for most of June and into July. If you are planning a trip this summer, be sure to keep an eye on those park hours, especially as you consider park-hopping and dining reservations.

Here are the updates made to Walt Disney World theme park hours this week:

The Magic Kingdom has an extra hour added to a number of dates throughout June and early July, including June 5, 6, 8, 10-15, 17-27, and 29, 2022, as well as July 1-2, 2022. The Disney Park is still scheduled to open at 9:00 a.m. during all of these dates but will remain open an hour later until 11:00 p.m.

Guests staying at deluxe resorts are able to take advantage of extended evening hours at Disney Parks, with those hours running from 11:00 p.m.-1:00 a.m. on June 8, 15, and 22, and July 29, 2022, at Magic Kingdom Park. Early theme park entry for all Disney resort hotel Guests remains 30 minutes before park opening for all dates at 8:30 am.

EPCOT is moving to an earlier opening time of 8:30 a.m. from June 5-July 2, 2022. The earlier open time for nearly one month will surely help with crowds visiting the park for the final weeks of the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, which runs through July 4, 2022. The theme park will continue to close at 9:00 p.m.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios will follow the same schedule as EPCOT, opening at 8:30 a.m. from June 5-July 2, 2022. Closing times for Hollywood Studios are still set for 9:00 p.m., but we will continue to check the hours for this Disney Park as the return of Fantasmic later this year could impact hours.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom has extended hours earlier for just one day on the upcoming calendar, with a 7:30 a.m. open on June 9, 2022. The park will still close at 6:00 p.m. on that day, and for much of the summer hours released by Disney so far, but it is always possible that hours will extend further as park reservations continue to fill up.

Expanded park hours are often indicative of crowds, so be sure to plan accordingly if you are visiting Walt Disney World this summer.

Especially during busy seasons, it is important to grab your ticket and theme park reservations early, as they can fill up, and if you are hoping to dine at popular Disney restaurants, you’ll want to make reservations as soon as possible for those, too, just to be safe.
