Fantasmic! officially returns to Disneyland in California on May 28, but we have been paying close attention to any clues that might tell us when Fantasmic! over at Walt Disney World will return.

This beloved show came to a temporary close during the height of the pandemic in 2020, but we always knew it would return. And Disney plans to have it return with some fancy new performances and sequences that were just announced today.

This ever-popular show will feature new sequences staring a few of our favorite classic characters in thrilling heroic moments. You can expect to see Mulan, Elsa, Aladdin, Pocahontas, and Moana, in this new rendition of Fantasmic! along with some fancy new special effects and technical enhancements.

“When ‘Fantasmic!’ returns to Disney’s Hollywood Studios later this year, it will feature “a new show sequence featuring Disney characters – Mulan, Elsa, Aladdin, Pocahontas and Moana – in heroic moments as well as new technical enhancements”

We had an idea that these familiar faces might make an appearance, given the new Fantasmic! promo poster that includes design elements from Disney’s Moana (2016), Frozen (2013), and Aladdin (1992). But how exciting we will also be seeing some of our favorite feminine heroines, Mulan and Pocahontas.

We learned today that the new sequence will replace the current existing Pocahontas scene, with each character getting their own few minutes of fame.

When can we expect the show to return? We are still waiting on an official date to be announced, but Fantasmic! at Walt Disney World Hollywood Studios will be returning later this year in 2022.

Our predictions point to Fall 2022. It would make sense for the show to reopen before the Halloween season gets fired up since there will be an uptick in Park attendance. But we will just have to wait and see.

Stay tuned as well will be sure to update you as soon as we hear!
