Disney’s Animal Kingdom to Close Early Tomorrow

Visiting Walt Disney World this week? You may want to alter your park-hopping plans due to a private event scheduled for Disney’s Animal Kingdom tomorrow, June 9, 2022.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be closing at 6:00 p.m. with a private event for attendees and athletes of the Special Olympics USA Games running at the park until 10:00 p.m. Private event attendees will be able to enter the park beginning as early as 4:00 p.m., but day Guests will need to exit by 6:00.

The Special Olympics USA Games are taking place now through June 11, 2022, with select events hosted at the Walt Disney World Resort. In addition to ESPN Wide World of Sports and Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, the organization’s surfing competition took place at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon.

The Disney theme park does open early to Guests staying at Walt Disney World Resort hotels tomorrow morning at 7:00 am. The 6:00 pm closure will continue through Friday, June 10, 2022, and beginning this Saturday, June 11, the park will once again close at 8:00 p.m. for select dates.

Reservations are sold out for visits to Disney’s Animal Kingdom tomorrow, but Guests visiting Walt Disney World do still have the ability to park hope to Animal Kingdom after checking into another park, beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Currently, the only Disney Park with availability for new theme park reservations tomorrow is EPCOT, so if you are in Walt Disney World this week with one-park per day tickets, you may want to visit EPCOT instead of Animal Kingdom. Otherwise, if you are planning to park hop, just note the park’s early closure and you will be good to go!
