We know that Disney World has diehard fans, and each of them has their personal opinions on the best rides, foods, and Disney Resorts. Something that diehard Disney fans also have is opinions that might surprise you. Take a look at some shocking thoughts that some diehard Disney World fans might say.
Disney is Too Expensive
Even though we might love traveling to Disney World and do it often, that doesn’t mean we think it is cheap. Each vacation to Disney seems to get more and more expensive as prices increase on food, tickets, and Resorts. We also see new planning tools such as Genie+ become a part of a Disney World vacation and other additions that make the trip even more expensive. For many, a trip to Disney isn’t in the budget. Even though we are super fans, it doesn’t mean we can’t acknowledge that it is expensive to visit Walt Disney World.
It Is Too Hard
We are huge Disney World fans and visit often, but planning isn’t becoming any easier for a trip to Walt Disney World. Between having to have Park Passes, thinking about if Genie+, and figuring out if we want to purchase individual rides, there are just so many layers to heading to Disney World. It has been a while since Guests were able to show up at Magic Kingdom and enjoy the day, but it seems like more and more goes into planning a trip to Disney World. With so much changing, it can be hard for Guests to keep up with the newest and most up-to-date information. Although we know that Disney is making these steps to help our overall Theme Park experience, we feel like it can be too much for some Guests turning them away from a magical trip.
Too Focused on Technology
Another area that has significantly increased in Disney is the use of technology. We love My Disney Experience; however, we also miss the days where we could be disconnected from the world outside the Disney bubble. Disney is relying more and more on technology to help Guests have a great experience in the Theme Parks. We will see the addition of Disney Genie and Genie+ on October 19th, which will be another way Guests will need to be on their phones during their Disney vacation. From watching wait times to ordering food, Disney provides various outstanding resources for Guests while in a theme Park, but they are attached to their phones. We aren’t sure that the focus on technology is doing that right now for a Park that was supposed to bring adults and kids together.
Universal is Awesome
Many might think that you can only like Universal or Disney, but this isn’t the case for many hard-core Disney fans. A lot of diehard Disney fans are also fans of Universal Studios. There are a lot of differences between the two Orlando Theme Parks, which provide different experiences for Guests depending on what they want to do during their vacation. Universal Studios has a variety of highly intense rides, whereas Disney, although having some intense rides like Rock n’ Roller Coaster, has more low-key rides. If you haven’t experienced Universal Studios, it is a lot of fun and a great vacation option. The Universal resorts are also some of the best we have stayed at while in Orlando. The smaller size of Universal Studios makes it a lot easier to visit in a few days and go back and forth to your Resort for those afternoon breaks. Even though it might not seem okay at first, you can like both Disney and Universal.
I Don’t Like….
Not every Disney fanatic likes every single ride or food that Disney has to offer. It might seem like diehard Disney fans don’t have anything they dislike about Disney, but that isn’t the case. If you sit down with a Disney fan, they too will have rides and food options that they don’t like. It might surprise you that even crazy; passionate Disney fans have areas that they aren’t fans of when it comes to a ride, show, food, or Resort. This is why Disney has so much to offer Guests so no matter what your style, you should find something that fits you.
IP Rides are Fun
If you are new to Disney, you might not be aware that there is a strong divide between groups like IP in the parks and those that don’t. It might surprise you that some diehard Disney fans enjoy the IP brought into the Theme Park. Rides like Frozen Ever After and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure have brought a lot of new magic to the Parks. Although we all like the original rides that Disney has created, we also love getting our favorite characters into the Parks.
Harry Potter is Better Than Star Wars
Both Universal and Disney have brought to life two great franchises through their Theme Parks. We find Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios unbelievable, so we might argue that The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is slightly better. From the outstanding rides to the immersive lands, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter rival Galaxy’s Edge. Depending on their movie love, even diehard Disney fans might choose Harry Potter over Star Wars.
It might be surprising to you to know that even diehard Disney fans say these things sometimes regarding their beloved Disney World. Each of us has different experiences we love when it comes to Disney, and we love that we all have the opportunity to enjoy what makes us happy.
