We Pick Two! What Two Rides Would We Pick In Each Park?

There are so many outstanding rides and attractions in all four Walt Disney World theme parks, but the question we will look at today is if we could only ride two in each park what would we choose?  Take a look at our choices and see if you agree with us or think we are way off!

Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom is actually the hardest for us because there are so many rides to choose from and our choice could change depending on our mood and goal for the day.  If we are looking for speed and thrills we would be heading toward the mountains, but if we are feeling nostalgic we would think about it’s a Small World and The Haunted Mansion.  So which two would we decide on when it comes to our picks for Magic Kingdom?

Pirates of the Caribbean:  In Magic Kingdom one of our two picks would take us to Adventureland and Pirates of the Caribbean.  We absolutely love this ride because it has a little of everything.  From a fun boat ride that has great animatronics, action, drops and of course the classic song we feel like a trip to the Magic Kingdom isn’t complete until we take a ride on Pirates of the Caribbean.

Haunted Mansion:  Surprisingly our second choice would take us over the Liberty Square for The Haunted Mansion.  This classic Disney attraction is one that still amazes us each and every time we ride.  The creativity and imagination that went into making this ride is something that we greatly appreciate.  We enjoy how the story is set as we wait in line and continue through the stretching room.  Even though we have experienced it many times, we still find new and interesting aspects each and every time.

We did surprise ourselves that we didn’t have any of the  mountains or what many would consider thrill rides in Magic Kingdom as our picks, but these two rides we feel are truly unique and show the magic that makes Disney special.  We will be interested to know if the opening of Tron changes our choices.

Animal Kingdom

There aren’t as many rides to choose from in Animal Kingdom but those that are in this park are fantastic.  From Expedition Everest to Kilimanjaro Safaris, Animal Kingdom offers a little of everything.

Flight of Passage:  Our first ride choice has to be Flight of Passage.  This ride experience is like nothing else we have ever done.  The nature scenes are breathtaking and the way it appeals to all of our senses truly makes this ride magical.  We love seeing new touches each and every time we ride.

Kilimanjaro Safari:  Where else can we experience a true safari here in the US.  This ride is an adventure that is different each and every time.  We love how we can see different animals in a natural environment as they interact with one another on the safari.  It is so much fun to have giraffes, rhinos and other animals up close as well as to see the elephants, hippos and lions.  We feel like this unique ride is one that shouldn’t be missed because it truly shows the effort and work that Disney is doing when it comes to animal conservation.

Once again, we skipped out on the high thrilling rides at Animal Kingdom of Dinosaur and Expedition Everst.  Don’t get us wrong, these rides are absolutely thrilling and exciting, but not ones we felt were required when visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Two of the newer rides in Walt Disney World are found in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  Rise of the Resistance and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway are two outstanding, new ride experiences that Guests have been raving about since they opened.  But is this where we would head?

Tower of Terror (Credit: Disney)

Twilight Zone Tower of Terror:  Guests can see this ride looming in the distance as soon as they turn down Sunset Boulevard.  Seeing the broken down hotel and hearing the screams sets the stage right away for this ride.  We love how even the queue shows how worn down the hotel is and this continues as you enter into the lobby.  Make sure you take time to take in the details of the lobby as you can find some hidden gems.  Nothing can compare to the excitement that comes each and every time you ride and the drops begin.  No matter how often you ride, the unknown is so much fun.  We don’t feel like our trip to Hollywood Studios is complete until we ride Tower of Terror.

First Order Stormtroopers. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance (Photo: Disney)

Rise of the Resistance:  The most immersive ride in all of Walt Disney World is in Star Wars:  Galaxy’s Edge with Rise of the Resistance.   Guests are truly transported into the movies as they work to help Rey and friends escape the First Order.  The way Disney created an experience where Guests move from place to place providing a variety of different experiences within on ride is outstanding.  When we are in Disney’s Hollywood Studios we have to take on Rise so we can take in new details that we haven’t seen before.

EPCOT

EPCOT is in a little bit of a growing stage right now, but we know that with growth will come some new and amazing experiences.  We are going to cheat a little with our choices in EPCOT.

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure:  This ride isn’t opening until October 1st, but we are going to cheat and say this is one of our top picks.  We can’t wait to be shrunk down to the size of Remy so we can race through the famous Gusteau’s kitchen.  A ride for the whole family to experience together, we can’t wait!  This will definitely be one of the choices in EPCOT.

Spaceship Earth:  This choice surprised us as well, but it is what EPCOT is all about.  Spaceship Earth is both educational and fun which is the goal of EPCOT.  We love seeing the different historical scenes as they come to life throughout the ride.  Although we can agree that it might need some magical enhancements in the future, we feel like a trip to EPCOT isn’t complete until we ride Spaceship Earth.

These are our top two ride choices in each of Disney World’s four theme parks.  Do you agree with our choices or would you pick something completely different?

About Jennifer Retzlaff

My name is Jennifer Retzlaff and I became a lifelong Disney fan during my first trip to Walt Disney World in 6th grade. From that moment, Disney became a big part of my life. I live in Iowa with my husband and two kids who are growing up too quickly for my liking. I started introducing my love for Disney early to my family with a Disney honeymoon and then trips when our youngest of 18 months. Since then, our family has been to Walt Disney World over five times and we continue to plan and dream for the next trip. I love the magic that Disney brings to people through the theme parks, cruises, adventures and movies they create. As a teacher, I try to bring that magic into my classroom to help kids believe that “If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It.” I recently reached a dream of mine as I joined Magic Vacation Planner as a personal travel advisor. With this team, I can now help others plan magical vacations. As a passionate writer, I also have my own blog at magicalvacationsbyjen which is also where you can follow me on instagram for trip reviews along with tips and tricks for your next magical vacation.
