Portable Phone Chargers

Even though we want our Disney World vacation to be a break from reality, it will most definitely not be a break from our smartphones. My Disney Experience and the addition of Disney Genie have made it clear that technology will continue to be key to a Disney trip. From checking wait times on the app to scheduling Genie+, it will be important that your cell phone stays charged and at the ready. The pro Disney World visitors know this and come prepared with portable phone chargers for their devices. Although fuel rods are offered for a fee throughout the theme Park and Disney Resort, the pros don’t like to lose out on ride time by searching for these locations. Instead, the pros come with their portable chargers and cords when they arrive at the theme Park. There are a variety of different sizes and styles on Amazon that can be great options to snag before heading down. If you have teenagers who have their own phones, make sure they have a portable charger to avoid any major meltdowns of a dead phone. Make sure your phone is ready for the trip to Walt Disney World by using our tips here. We know that portable chargers are a must have on your Disney World packing list.

Sunscreen

It doesn’t matter if you are going to Disney World in December or August; you will want to pack sunscreen each day. The Florida sun is just more aggressive, and it is important to be prepared and protect yourself. The pros make sure they have sunscreen with them every day, rain or shine when entering a theme Park. Also, make sure you reapply throughout the day. That Florida sun will make you sweat it off, so take time to put more on throughout the day to stay protected. Sunscreen is available at the theme Park and at Disney Resorts, but the price can be high. Prevent this cost by putting sunscreen (and a few bottles at that) on your Disney packing list.

Chapstick

Another sun related item that the pros make sure they have with them is chapstick. Those lips can get extremely dry and chapped with the Florida sun and humidity combined with wearing a mask. Make sure to keep them hydrated with chapstick and the good stuff with SPF protection. This is an easy one to throw into your theme Park bag and have with you throughout your Disney vacation.

Masks and Masks Chains

The Disney World pros know that the masks policies are constantly changing in the Disney theme Parks and Disney Resorts. To be prepared, they make sure they have a few masks with them at all times. This allows them to have them ready when they need to (currently on all transportation and indoor rides and queues) and to change them out when they get sweaty or wet. Remember, the Florida heat is no joke, and you will probably appreciate a fresh mask each day or even throughout the day. Disney vacation pros also have started to make sure they have a mask chain. As masks can be taken off outside and while eating, this can cause a lot of off and on when it comes to your mask. To prevent it from being lost or getting dirty, use a mask chain to attach to it, and then you always will know where it is. This is a great option for little ones who might not keep track of their mask very well. The pros know that these help keep Cast Members and us safe, so they are prepared with tricks and tips to make it easier by adding masks and mask chains to their Disney World packing list.

Water Bottle and Water Flavor

Pros know that water is 100% necessary throughout a theme Park day. The amount of walking that is done and that heat and humidity we mentioned before can dehydrate you. Disney does offer free water throughout the theme parks; however, they have also put in a variety of water fill stations throughout the theme Park. This makes it super easy to refill your water bottle throughout the day. The pros also know that sometimes Disney water isn’t so magical. If you have issues with nonfilter or non bottled water, consider adding some flavor to your water. Some of the flavorings have extra hydration and electrolytes, which is even better. Don’t get caught dehydrated on your Disney World vacation. Bring that water bottle to the theme Park.

Rain Gear

The weather in Florida can be unpredictable. The pros know that even if there is a 0% chance of rain, they should still pack their rain gear for the theme Park. Rainstorms pop up suddenly in Florida, especially in the summer and fall months. Don’t get caught getting soaked. Toss in a rain poncho, rain jacket, or umbrella, so make sure you aren’t caught getting wet. Umbrellas are also great for those hot sunny days as they can protect you from the sun. Pros don’t head into a Disney theme Park without that rain gear every day.

Correct Shoes

Everyone wants to look cute in their Walt Disney World vacation photos; however, pros know that the correct footwear is essential to genuine smiles in photos. Before heading down on vacation to Disney, make sure you have shoes that can be worn for miles and miles. A typical day at a Disney theme Park results in 10 miles for Guests. It is safe to say most of us don’t walk that on a normal day at home. With that being said, it is important that proper shoes are being worn for those miles. Pros will tell you that tennis shoes and walking shoes are the best options for these days in the theme Park and skip the flip flops, but you have to know what would be the best for you in Disney Park. Don’t try to break in new shoes or be fancy; instead, go for comfort- your feet will thank you greatly.

It can seem like you need to pack the whole house when heading to Disney World, but we hope knowing the items the pros focus on will help you narrow down your list. About Jennifer Retzlaff

My name is Jennifer Retzlaff and I became a lifelong Disney fan during my first trip to Walt Disney World in 6th grade. From that moment, Disney became a big part of my life. I live in Iowa with my husband and two kids who are growing up too quickly for my liking. I started introducing my love for Disney early to my family with a Disney honeymoon and then trips when our youngest of 18 months. Since then, our family has been to Walt Disney World over five times and we continue to plan and dream for the next trip. I love the magic that Disney brings to people through the theme parks, cruises, adventures and movies they create. As a teacher, I try to bring that magic into my classroom to help kids believe that “If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It.” I recently reached a dream of mine as I joined Magic Vacation Planner as a personal travel advisor. With this team, I can now help others plan magical vacations. As a passionate writer, I also have my own blog at magicalvacationsbyjen which is also where you can follow me on instagram for trip reviews along with tips and tricks for your next magical vacation.
