The New Disney Christmas Ornaments Have Got Us Thinking…

In the last few days, there have been some new arrivals to the Disney Parks. If you’re interested in Disney rides and collectors’ items, then you’ll most definitely want to get your hands on them. Guests can now buy hanging ornaments that pay tribute to the following Disney Park attractions:

  • Peter Pan’s Flight
  • Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid
  • Pirates of the Caribbean
  • Peter Pan’s Flight
  • Walt Disney World Entrance Sign
  • The Magic Kingdom Train Station

Disney Icon Christmas Ornaments

The new Disney Christmas decorations have arrived at Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in Liberty Square in Magic Kingdom Park. We expect that they will shortly arrive at Mickey’s Days of Christmas store in Disney Springs if they haven’t already done so. Whilst the intention is to hang them on your Christmas tree each year, they can also be displayed throughout the year. Invest in a hanging ornament stand for an ornament to hang from, or unclip the hanging thread and place it on a shelf to add a little Disney accent to your home.

The Magic Kingdom Train Station ornament is a perfect replica of the view that you are presented with as you pass through the ticket stands at Magic Kingdom theme park. It also features the Walt Disney World Railroad train, in the station. To the rear of the ornament, you’ll find a replica of the view you get when you’re standing at the end of Main Street, U.S.A. It even features Mickey Mouse in his train conductor costume. The detail on this ornament is truly stunning.

The Walt Disney World Entrance Sign features the new color scheme of the actual sign you pass through when entering Disney property, as part of the 50th Anniversary celebrations. We think this would look perfect in your home, year-round, and not just at Christmas.

If you’re a fan of The Little Mermaid (1989), you’ll most definitely want to invest in the new ornament, that replicates the beautiful ride it takes inspiration from in Magic Kingdom. To the rear, you’ll find Ariel, Flounder, Sebastian, and King Triton, as though they are inside of the attraction.

The new Space Mountain ornament is almost a pocket-sized version of the iconic Disney Parks attraction. It even features the logo that you see when approaching Space Mountain in Tomorrowland. Turn it around, and it’s as though the attraction has been cut in half to reveal an astronaut, planets, and little models of the rockets you sit in when riding Space Mountain. This is another treasure that deserves to be displayed all year round, not just during the holiday season!

We also love the detail of the Pirates of the Caribbean ornament that replicates the building Guests enter to experience the attraction in Adventureland. It even features the iconic ride logo displayed on a large black sail. You can also expect a similar style to the Peter Pan’s Flight attraction ornament. To the front, there are 2 smaller, replica ships just like you ride in the Magic Kingdom attraction. Turn it around to see Captain Hook and Tick Tock, with Scull Rock as the backdrop.

Other Attraction-Inspired Ornaments

Disney Parks have previously released other Christmas ornaments to celebrate other well-loved attractions around Walt Disney World. The largest collection of ornaments inspired by the Disney rides have been the ear hat ornaments. This collection has included attractions from Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. From Jungle Cruise to Fantasmic!, Journey Into Imagination with Figment, and the Enchanted Tiki Room; these ornaments provide the perfect souvenir for Guests who hold these attractions in a special place in their hearts.

Previously, Disney Parks have also released replica ornaments of the following Disney attractions:

The release of these ornaments though, both past and present, has got us thinking of the Disney icons that we never got to see or are yet to see in Christmas ornament form.

IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth Globe

Remember the globe that would travel across World Showcase Lagoon every evening during the IllumiNations? Well, we definitely think that the Disney Parks missed out on the opportunity to release a replica Christmas ornament of that famous globe when IllumiNations came to an end. The show was a firm Guest favorite and will be very much missed for years to come. We’re sure that a lot of Guests would have invested in a replica to cherish for many years, as IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth lives on in Guests’ hearts for a long time.

Disney Monorail Slogan

Whilst Guests can buy a blown glass Christmas Ornament in the design of the Disney Monorail, we think Disney Parks are missing an opportunity.   The “please stand clear of the doors” quote that is played onboard the Disney Monorail is a firm Guest favorite. We know that Disney is aware of the popularity of this slogan as they have previously released t-shirts designed around it. We’d love to see a hanging ornament that features this, as well as the Disney Monorail. It’s another souvenir that could be displayed around the home, year long.

Disney Halloween Wreaths

For any Guests who adore the Disney Halloween decorations displayed around Magic Kingdom at the spooky time of year, we definitely think replica ornaments would be a hit. After all, who doesn’t stop and admire those beautiful Mickey pumpkin wreaths hung from every light post along Main Street, U.S.A.?

Disney FriendShip Boats

There’s a replica Disney Monorail ornament, and Guests also have a choice of replica Disney Skyliner gondolas to purchase too. We have to ask though, do Disney Parks intend of releasing replicas of the other Disney Transportation that add to Guests’ Disney experience? We’d love to add a FriendShip Boat to our EPCOT shelves. Not to forget that a replica Disney Bus would add a little magical touch to our Disney Christmas tree, in one of the character designs that now transport Guests around Lake Buena Vista.

What other Disney ornaments are you hoping to see come to Disney Parks? Let’s hope that our wishes are granted at some point so that we get the chance to purchase more icons that help us to remember the magic of each and every Disney vacation.
