New ‘Summer House on the Lake’ Restaurant Announced for Disney Springs

A new restaurant was just announced for Disney Springs!

The upcoming dining location will take over the space formerly occupied by Bongos Cuban Cafe, which closed permanently in 2019. Following the closure, a new restaurant based out of Chicago called Beatrix was working with Disney to open a new location in the old Bongos space, however, those plans have since changed.

Summer House on the Lake, a California-inspired dining experience with other locations already in Chicago and Maryland is the newest restaurant coming to Disney Springs.

While no opening date has been announced beyond sometime during 2023, the new restaurant took to Facebook to announce the news that its next location would be at Walt Disney World in Disney Springs.

Summer House on the Lake should be a welcome addition to the West Side neighborhood of Disney Springs with its seasonally rotating menu and focus on fresh, local ingredients. Seasonal menus have been a hit at Disney Springs, especially for Orlando locals who are not always up for using a Disney Park ticket (or making a theme park reservation) when they are mostly looking to grab lunch or dinner.

Menu details for the Disney Springs Summer House on the Lake have yet to be revealed, but the restaurant’s current menu features a variety of options including sandwiches, salad, pasta, and more. The new Summer House location is operated under the Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises umbrella which manages 130 restaurants across numerous states.

While always billed as a “dining, shopping, and entertainment” complex, Disney Springs has been seriously stepping up its dining game in recent years, and Summer House on the Lake should be a great addition to the dining scene on this side of Walt Disney World.
