Disney Parks are a place where dreams come true. Parents, kids, friends, and families all have magical memories when they return from their Walt Disney World (or Disneyland Resort) vacation.

Character Meet and Greets

In addition to the many parades, fireworks, rides, and shows, one element manages to appeal to all Guests of every age: meeting characters. Whether visiting any of the four theme parks (Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, or Disney’s Hollywood Studios) in Florida or the pair of Parks at Disneyland Resort (Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park) in California, there’s always a chance to meet your favorite Disney mascot.

Over the years, the character experiences have become one of the most sought-after parts of a Disney vacation, including character dining, photo opportunities, and even autograph books for the characters to sign.

The Dog and Donald Duck

But seldom do we see characters meeting or interacting with four-legged friends. Shared on TikTok is Nala, an autism service dog meeting her hero, Donald Duck.

In the clip, we see Nala, meeting Donald Duck, and the Disney character is blown away. The adorable pup snuggles up against the Disney character and the Cast Member even signs that they’re crying (presumably happy tears). Next, after a few “kisses” from Donald and a long cuddle with her hero, Nala sits upright beaming with joy. Meanwhile, the dog’s owner tells Donald that Nala just turned two years old.

Despite videos in the past year or two of Guests fighting over photo spots and line cutting, images like Nala and Donald remind us that Walt Disney World is still a magical place.

About Steven Wilk

Steven has a complicated relationship with Disney. As a child, he visited Walt Disney World every few years with his family. But he never understood why kids his age (and older) were so scared of Snow White or Alien Encounter. He is a former participant of the Disney College Program (left early…long story), and he also previously worked in Children’s publishing, where he adapted multiple Disney movies and TV shows. He has many controversial opinions about Disney…like having a positive view of Michael Eisner, believing Return of the Jedi is superior to The Empire Strikes Back, and that Toy Story Land and Galaxy’s Edge should have never been built (at least not at Hollywood Studios). Every year for the past two decades, Steven has visited either Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Aulani or went on a Disney Cruise. He’s happy to share any and all knowledge of the Disney destinations (and he likes using parenthesis a lot…as well as ellipses…)
