As vaccines have become widely available, masks are no longer being made mandatory, and social distancing is no longer being enforced, we can start to feel like the pandemic has ended.

However, the COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing, with thousands of new cases every day. Each country handles the containment of this virus differently, but in China, the restrictions are still comparatively strict.

When Shanghai Disneyland initially closed on Monday morning, October 31, it was due to city-wide prevention measures. The Disney Park, surrounding shopping areas, and Resort hotels were all shut down, with Guests still inside the Park who could not leave without producing a negative COVID-19 test.

At the very least, the Guests who were still trapped inside could still enjoy the Park’s “limited offerings.”
