As we head into Thanksgiving week, we thought it was a good time to pause and think about all the reasons we are thankful for Walt Disney World.

Always Something New

We are thankful that no matter how many times we visit Walt Disney World there is always something new to experience.

Between the four Theme Parks (Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios), over 30 Resorts, and so many dining options, Disney is always introducing something new.

New rides open, menus get adjusted, and exciting entertainment is added.  It is because of this constant change that we can always find something new and magical on each and every trip.

Cleanliness

Disney has always put cleanliness at the top of their list.  We are so thankful for all the effort the Cast Members put into making the Theme Park and Disney Resorts shine.

Since reopening following the shut down for COVID, Disney has taken even more measures to ensure the cleanliness of the Theme Parks and Resorts.

From extensive cleaning between Guests at the Resorts to how they sanitize ride vehicles after the closure, Disney is working hard to keep everything sparkling.

Transportation

One of the hardest parts of a vacation for us is navigating around a new, unfamiliar area.  At Walt Disney World, this isn’t a concern.

Disney provides free transportation to all Resort Guests and for this, we are extremely thankful.

Buses, boats, monorails, and the Disney Skyliner all take Guests to and from the Disney Theme Park and Resorts, as well as Disney Springs.  It is so nice to sit back and enjoy the ride.

Cast Members

Cast Members are the ones making the magic for us when we are on our Disney vacations and we are so thankful for them.

From the Cast Members that greet us at the Resorts to those who run the rides in a Disney Park, each of them works hard each and every day to make sure we are safe and having a magical time.

We know that the past 18 months plus haven’t been easy on Cast Members. We are thankful that they are back in the Parks and Resorts welcoming us and doing so much to help our vacations be wonderful.

Bringing Movies to Life

We are thankful that Walt Disney World brings our favorite movies to life right in front of our eyes.

From classic movies such as ‘Peter Pan’ and ‘Snow White’ to new favorites like ‘Frozen’ and the ‘Star Wars’ franchise, Disney does an amazing job of making us feel a part of these films.

Being able to soar along with Peter and Tink is magical as is stepping into Batuu where we can help Rey, Chewy and the Rebels fight the First Order.

Disney movies have been a part of our lives forever and we are extremely thankful that Walt Disney World brings them to life.

Having Thrills

Walt Disney World does a wonderful job of bringing the thrills to Guests and we are thankful for this chance to scream and have a great time.

Rides such as Expedition Everest, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster,  The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, and Space Mountain bring fun, thrills, and excitement that make a Walt Disney World trip complete.

We are thankful that we can have such an exciting time in the Parks while on our Disney vacations.

Being Kids Again

When Walt Disney thought about creating Disneyland it was so kids and adults could have fun together.  For this alone we are thankful for Walt Disney World.

We absolutely love that we can act like a kid again when we are in Walt Disney World.  From screaming on rides to laughing and giggling or even crying when overwhelmed with the magic, Disney allows us to have a fantastic time with our kids and loved ones.

This is one of the best parts of Walt Disney World, and each time we visit we are extremely grateful that Disney allows us these magical experiences.

Feels All Inclusive

When visiting Walt Disney World, we are thankful that everything we need is easily accessed right on property.

One of the great aspects of a Walt Disney World vacation is that everything we need from hotel rooms, food, tickets, transportation, etc., is all available right in the Disney bubble.  We don’t have to leave Disney property for anything if we don’t want to.

This is something we appreciate as it makes traveling less stressful. It’s nice to know that everything we might need can be found within Disney.  We don’t have to worry about searching off property for medicine or food.

We are extremely grateful for a vacation to Walt Disney World giving us the all inclusive feel.  We look forward to the day when the Disney Dining Plan will return to help this feature be even better.

Escape the Real World

We are thankful that Walt Disney World allows us a place where we can escape the real world, even if it is just for a little while.

It is amazing how when you are on a Disney vacation, you can remove yourself from the outside world.  We are thankful that we have a place where we can set aside any real world concerns for just a little while and focus on the magic of the vacation.

Believe in Magic

Finally, we are thankful for Walt Disney World because it helps us to continue to believe in magic.  We are so grateful for all the wonderful experiences it provides through attractions, dining, Resort experiences, and cast interactions.

Walt Disney World is a place where we see that magic is still alive in the world and we are truly grateful for that.

There is so much that we are thankful for when it comes to Walt Disney World and we wanted to take a moment to express that this week.  We hope that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Why are you thankful for Walt Disney World?

About Jennifer Retzlaff

My name is Jennifer Retzlaff and I became a lifelong Disney fan during my first trip to Walt Disney World in 6th grade. From that moment, Disney became a big part of my life. I live in Iowa with my husband and two kids who are growing up too quickly for my liking. I started introducing my love for Disney early to my family with a Disney honeymoon and then trips when our youngest of 18 months. Since then, our family has been to Walt Disney World over five times and we continue to plan and dream for the next trip. I love the magic that Disney brings to people through the theme parks, cruises, adventures and movies they create. As a teacher, I try to bring that magic into my classroom to help kids believe that “If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It.” I recently reached a dream of mine as I joined Magic Vacation Planner as a personal travel advisor. With this team, I can now help others plan magical vacations. As a passionate writer, I also have my own blog at magicalvacationsbyjen which is also where you can follow me on instagram for trip reviews along with tips and tricks for your next magical vacation.
