2022 Dates We Would Suggest Adding Disney Genie+ to Your Vacation

As we look into 2022, there are a few times throughout the upcoming year that we feel Disney Genie+ will be extremely helpful to those visiting Walt Disney World. For $15/person/day, Genie+ gives Guests access to the Lightning Lane for over 40 attractions throughout the four Theme Parks.

By purchasing Genie+ for these 2022 dates, we think it will save you a significant amount of time in line. We hope that this will help you better determine if Genie+ will be a good investment for your Walt Disney World vacation.

New Years Eve and Day

The first date in 2022 that we would suggest looking into purchasing Genie+ for is both New Year’s Eve and New Years Day. These two dates are always extremely busy as families and locals like to ring in the new year at Walt Disney World and who can blame them.

Because it is such a popular time to be in the Parks, the wait times can be some of the longest we see.  If this is when you are planning on visiting, consider adding Genie+ so you have less time in line and more time exploring and having fun.

Spring Break

Those living in the northern states look to Florida and Walt Disney World for sunshine and some warmer weather during spring break. Spring break typically takes place from March through April in most areas.  As kids are out of school, families use this time for vacations. Get Genie+ for spring break so you can easily avoid long lines and spend more time enjoying that warm weather and the Disney pools.

May 4th

Another date that you might not think about for Genie+ is May 4th (AKA “May the FOURTH be with you”).  If you are heading to Disney’s Hollywood Studios on May 4th, we highly recommend purchasing Genie+. Star Wars fans flock to Galaxy’s Edge on May 4th to celebrate May the Force Be With You!

Memorial Day

Memorial Day is the kick-off to summer which means a lot of families use it to kick off their vacations and Disney World is top of the list. With sunshine and warmer weather almost guaranteed, people flock to the Parks during this holiday weekend. Genie+ can be extremely helpful during this time as it will not only help you skip the long lines, but will also help you maximize your time if you are only there for a short trip.

Summer Months

Summer is the prime time for families to take vacations and Walt Disney World is often at the top of the list for destinations. As crowds build during June, July and August so does the heat in Walt Disney World. As temperatures reach the upper 90s, it can feel like it is over 100 making it extremely difficult to be in the Parks. The less time you have to spend in line during these hotter days the better and Genie+ will give you the option.  Spend less time in the heat and more time relaxing at the pool.

4th of July

When we look at the summer months, the peak crowds arrive during the 4th of July holiday. Genie+ can be a blessing when it comes to 4th of July crowds.  It can get you out of the long lines during the heat of the day.

Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day weekend is very similar to Memorial Day weekend. For many, this weekend is the end of summer and many want to enjoy it with one last vacation. Even though parts of the country are heading into Fall, it is still extremely warm in Walt Disney World during September.  As we have mentioned before, Genie+ is a great way to avoid long lines in the heat.

Halloween

Walt Disney World does a fantastic job bringing the Halloween season into the Parks in a fun and magical way. This time of year has become extremely popular as Guests want to celebrate the spooky holiday in Walt Disney World. Although Halloween has been starting in August, we are seeing the larger crowds closer to October 31st or during the weekends.

Schools are starting to provide more Fall breaks and families are using it as a time to get away together. Magic Kingdom seems to be the Park that most Guests head towards during Halloween, so having Genie+ is an excellent way to experience all of the attractions with lower waits giving you more time for those spooky treats.

Thanksgiving

Surprising to some is how busy Walt Disney World gets during Thanksgiving.  It can be a fun time to visit as holiday festivities are getting ready, but that also means the holiday crowds are ready as well. Be prepared for those crowds by adding Genie+ so you can enjoy those meals instead of waiting in line.

Winter Holidays

Walt Disney World is a truly magical experience during the winter holidays.  The Parks and Resorts transform into a winter wonderland that is like nothing else. Because of this, crowds really ramp up during this time making it a great time to consider buying Genie+ so you can enjoy the holiday experience, not in line.

runDisney Weekends

runDisney events are back in Walt Disney World and with it comes the running crowds. We are seeing the runDisney events quickly fill up after registrations open telling us that these runDisney weekends might be a great time to add Genie+. WDW Marathon Weekend is January 5th to 9th, Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend will be February 24th to 27th and the new runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend is March 31st to April 3rd.
