Another Starbucks Is on Its Way to EPCOT Soon

Need a dose of caffeine when visiting Walt Disney World Resort? Well, you’re in luck! We’re learning another Starbucks is officially on its way to EPCOT in the very near future.

EPCOT’s transformation from Future World and World Showcase to its four neighborhoods (World Celebration, World Discovery, World Nature, and World Showcase) is well underway. As new experiences are in the works including Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Journey of Water Inspired by Moana, we’re preparing for the opening of a new restaurant and cafe.

We previously shared the news that EPCOT is welcoming Connections Café and Eatery in the World Celebration portion of the Park. The Disney restaurant will be a quick-service option (much like the former Electric Umbrella it is replacing).

While details have been few and far between, we do know now not only can we expect Disney food to be dished out in the “Eatery” portion of the restaurant, but the “Café” portion will be a Starbucks.

EPCOT closed its former “Fountain Views” Starbucks location when the Park began its transformation. As Disney recently welcomed back Club Cool, it looks like they are welcoming back Starbucks in this area as well.

There are currently several Joffrey’s stands located throughout the Disney Park along with one Starbucks located near the entrance of the World Showcase, next to the Canada Pavilion called Travelers Café. This second Starbucks location will be added to the Park soon enough.

Disney Imagineer Zach Riddley took to Instagram to share the above concept art along with an update on Connections Cafe:

“Here is an early concept rendering for Connections Café at EPCOT, as seen from the south side of the new location right across the breezeway from Creations Shop. What I love about this piece is that it beautifully illustrates a few points of “connection” that we designed for our Guests in this new space – how the gardens and greenery within World Celebration will complement the interiors, allowing our Guests to harmonize with nature outside; how friends and family will gather together around a meal or beverage; and how show kitchens will provide a culinary experience for our Guests within. The kitchen you see represented here will actually be responsible for making a variety of baked goods, which will be available at Connections Eatery.”

You can just make out how the exterior approach reestablishes the arc of the building, expressing the original concept of a radial grid. Like the adjacent Creations Shop, light and color will play a big part in the interior aesthetic, including the same floor to ceiling glazing and a massive hand-painted mural we’ve previously mentioned within Connections Eatery. One very important detail I want to share about Connections Café, is that it will be the future home of Starbucks at EPCOT when the location opens this spring! Like other Starbucks locations inside our theme parks, this Starbucks will be designed to fit the theme of its surroundings – but more of those details to come later on.

Stay connected with me here as I look forward to sharing more details about Connections Café and Eatery and the overall EPCOT transformation as we keep moving forward!

Zach Riddley previously announced Connections Café and Eatery will be opening this Spring 2022.

Are you excited to see the addition of another Starbucks at EPCOT? Or will you be sticking with your Joffrey’s coffee? We’ll be sure to keep you updated as we learn more about this new addition arriving soon.

About Jamie Sylvester

We are Disney nerds. Two kids at heart who love the magic and the memories of Walt Disney World! We follow all things Disney and have great experiences with Disney Vacation Club and RunDisney events in particular. We enjoy the vacations, day trips, weekend getaways and geek out over the planning of such events. From lodging to dining to Fastpasses we have a spreadsheet for every occasion. Mike’s frivolous Disney goal is to acquire a magic band of every style while Jamie’s goal is to experience as many Disney desserts as possible. Usually there isn’t a day that passes without some discussion of the master plan of our next trip to the happiest place on earth. Most people think we’re normal – until they travel to Disney with us. We have been married for 16 years and are blessed with a daughter and a son who have already learned the importance of planning ahead! As a family we thoroughly enjoy the magic and the memories at Walt Disney World and are here to help others experience the magic as well.
