Have Fan Reactions Convinced Johnny Depp to Return For Margot Robbie’s ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ Film?

We recently reported that a female-led Pirates of the Caribbean film starring Margot Robbie had been in the works but had allegedly been canceled. Margot Robbie had said,

We had an idea and we were developing it for a while, ages ago, to have more of a female-led-not totally female-led, but just a different kind of story-which we thought would’ve been really cool, but I guess they don’t want to do it.

However, the Pirates of the Caribbean producer Jerry Bruckheimer recently refuted this claim. In a report by The Hollywood Reporter, Bruckheimer states that the film is “alive for Disney” and reveals two Pirates of the Caribbean movies are in the making.

When The Hollywood Reporter asked the producer about Johnny Depp’s iconic character, Captain Jack Sparrow, Bruckheimer couldn’t give a straight answer. The Hollywood Reporter asks about Captain Jack Sparrow and if his character’s arc may end soon, to which Bruckheimer replies, “You can’t. We tried to kill him. It didn’t work.

These elusive answers are incredibly ambiguous, leading many fans to wonder if Johnny Depp will appear in either of these upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean films. When a film starring Margot Robbie was announced, many fans were appalled at the idea of a Pirates of the Caribbean movie without Captain Jack Sparrow.

Take the comment section of this TikTok announcing the news, for example.
One TikTok user writes, “BOYCOTT all Pirate movies that don’t have Johnny in them.”
Another writes, “Won’t be watching Pirates 6 without Mr. Depp.
A different user writes, “Jack Sparrow IS Pirates of the Caribbean.”

With such a strong reaction, we have to wonder if the fans’ reactions have led to Johnny Depp returning to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Only time will tell!
