Disney was forced to disappoint fans hoping to receive a Magic Key Annual Pass for the Disneyland Resort last night when they sold out in just 24 hours. Read on for more information about acquiring a Magic Key Pass.
Far from the first time since the release of the Magic Key Pass in 2021, Disney fans waited over 12 hours in the virtual queue yesterday to purchase the yearly admission for Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure only to find they were no longer available. The Southern California version of the Walt Disney World Annual Pass comprised of four tiers (Believe Key, Imagine Key, Enchant Key, Inspire Key) ranges in cost, with prices increasing anywhere from $50 to $200 per tier as of yesterday.
Moreover, while the highest price Inspire key was the last to sell out, by the end of the day, many Guests were willing to purchase every single one of the Disneyland Passes at $1599 per year. However, this also grants them access to benefits such as unlimited Disney Genie+, the ability to hold up to six Theme Park Reservations at a time, and less black-out dates.
In fact, reports on Twitter show that the Inspire Key holders are already monopolizing Park reservations for this month as they enjoy their new perks:

Indeed, things have certainly changed since the introduction of Disneyland’s first “All Inclusive Passport” on June 20, 1981 for $55. In today’s money, that would be a retail value of around $180 for a Disney Annual Pass, a far cry from the thousands paid yesterday by each . It’s possible that with such high demand, Disney will release more passes in the near future, or make General Admission more accessible to Guests.
