The New Trick That Means You Can Get a Doctor In Your Disney Hotel Room

It’s not something you want to happen on your long-awaited Disney vacation.

Guests want magic moments like character meet and greets, amazing Mickey-shaped snacks, and seeing children’s eyes light up when they see a parade.

What they don’t want is an accident or health issue to happen. Though theme parks have a variety of health and safety protocols in place, accidents, falls, and injuries are sometimes an unwanted occurrence during a trip.

Disney Parks like Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as well as water parks like Disney’s Blizzard Beach, create magic for Guests every day, but it doesn’t mean they’re not prone to incidents from time to time.

But what do you do when a mishap happens? Well, Disney has introduced a new service to its Walt Disney World that means a doctor will come to you!

It’s always the worst thing to happen at a Disney theme park.

Believe us, we’ve been there. On one trip to Disney World, we suffered a stomach bug that meant we couldn’t even eat our food at Boma at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge – the saddest occurrence!

The issue was that we didn’t have a car, and so had to wait until our return home to see a doctor.

Now, Disney has a new service on property that will help your party next time someone is feeling sick.

Doctor2me is a recently launched program that offers the chance to have a doctor come directly to you, whatever Resort you’re staying at.

The service makes medical treatment easier for those on vacation, especially considering wait times at ER and Urgent Care centers. And now, it’s offered at Disneyland Resort in California, Disney World in Florida, and Universal Studios Hollywood Resort Hotels.

If you’re staying at or near Disneyland or Walt Disney World, Doctor2me can bring a physician to your hotel room!

According to Doctor2me, niche doctors — such as pediatricians, OB/GYNs, orthopedists, neurologists, and other specialists — are available in addition to normal physicians. Doctors on the program can treat illnesses such as COVID, bronchitis, asthma, sprains, cuts, ear infections, fever, food poisoning, and others.

To get a doctor to come directly to you, visit the Doctor2me website and request an appointment. Appointments are available 24/7, taking the stress out of searching for a local Urgent Care or hospital.

Even follow-up services like X-rays, blood work, and prescriptions can be sorted. The service costs, of course, with the price dependent on the treatment required. It is typically $150 for a TeleHealth call or $175 for an in-person appointment. Many insurance plans cover these visits but check with your provider for more details before booking.

First Aid stations are available in Disney’s theme parks, offering free medication, bandages, and immediate care. And remember, you should call 911 in the case of an emergency.

With more incidents seemingly happening lately due to crowds and pandemic returns, including one unlucky Guest suffering a foot injury after a scooter (or ECV) ran over their foot, it will be helpful to have this service available!
