Merchandise Mobile Order Pick Up Testing Begins at Disney Park

Disney Guests who want to maximize their Park time can now pre-order merchandise for Mobile Order pick up at select locations.

When planning a vacation to a Disney Park, there are a few steps you can take to save time and money. For example, placing food orders from the mobile app, and utilizing perks like Genie+ and Lightning Lane can all help you keep your party’s schedule organized and reduce the amount of time spent haggling over decisions, dealing with last-minute changes, or waiting around in lengthy lines for an order.

As a result of Covid-19 protocols imposed on all theme parks in California, the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim closed in 2020 and did not reopen until 2021. During this time, Disney took the opportunity to restructure much of its Park operations, both in order to cut down on costs and provide new solutions to common obstacles in the average Guest’s day.

The service, similar to the pre-existing Mobile Ordering system for dining at Disneyland and the Walt Disney World Resorts, would allow Guests to order and purchase items through the Disneyland app, then pick up their pre-packaged items from one of the designated mobile ordering locations at a scheduled time.

However, it differs from both in that the service bypasses browsing periods, check-out lines, and point of sale. Instead, Guests find their selections easily using the mobile search filters and a Cast Member brings it all together while they enjoy the Parks.

Disneyland currently offers three order pick-up locations: left of City Hall on Main Street U.S.A. in Disneyland, at Elias & Co. for Disney California Adventure, and World of Disney at the Downtown Disney District. Twitter user @hastin recently shared a photo of a Cast Member waiting at the new pick-up podium on Main Street:

A Disney account is required to access the service, and valid park admission with same-day reservations are still required to pick up from inside either Park. Happy shopping!
