Another Park Experience Makes Its Way to Disney’s Upcharge Service

Ok, Disney fans! Take note as another Walt Disney World Resort experience has made its way to the Disney Park upcharge service, Disney Genie+.

Whether you love it or hate it, the Disney Genie is seemingly here to stay. Walt Disney World introduced the three-part service in mid-October 2021 and we Disney fans have been trying to get the hang of it ever since.

Disney Genie is a complimentary service on the My Disney Experience App that helps Guests navigate which attractions and experiences would work best for their Park day. Disney Genie+ is basically the former complimentary FastPass system, but now costs Guests $15 per person, per day. By paying the $15 Guests have a chance to skip the normal standby line one attraction at a time.

The third piece of the Genie puzzle is the individual a la carte Lightning Lane attractions. Skip the line on popular attractions for an individual fee such as $13 per person for attractions like Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT.

Just recently we shared the news that Magic Kingdom’s Festival of Fantasy Parade has joined the Disney Genie+ lineup, now Mickey and Minnie are strolling onto the list.

Head on over with us to Disney’s Hollywood Studios where Guests are once again seeing Mickey and Minnie for a Character Sightings moment in the Commissary Lane portion of the Park. Here you’ll find Sorcerer Mickey and the fabulous Minnie Mouse all dressed up for the experience known as Disney Stars at Red Carpet Dreams.

Guests will have the chance to skip the standby line when seeing Mickey and Minnie at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (as of March 11) if they have made the decision to purchase the paid service, Disney Genie+ to enter the Lightning Lane entrance.

With that $15 Disney Genie+ fee per person, per day, Guests visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios will also have a chance to experience attractions from the following list, if they are still available at the allotted time desired:

  • Alien Swirling Saucers
  • Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage
  • Disney Junior Play & Dance!
  • For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration
  • Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular
  • Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway (included with Disney Genie+ through August 7, 2022)
  • Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
  • Muppet*Vision 3D
  • Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
  • See Disney Stars at Red Carpet Dreams—available beginning March 11, 2022
  • See Olaf at Celebrity Spotlight
  • Slinky Dog Dash
  • Star Tours – The Adventures Continue
  • The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
  • Toy Story Mania!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios previously listed Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway as an individual Lightning Lane attraction, but it has been temporarily added to the Disney Genie+ list as noted above through August 7. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is, however, still offered as an individual Lightning Lane.

Do you plan to pay for Disney Genie+ for an opportunity to skip the line to see Mickey and Minnie on the red carpet?

About Jamie Sylvester

We are Disney nerds. Two kids at heart who love the magic and the memories of Walt Disney World! We follow all things Disney and have great experiences with Disney Vacation Club and RunDisney events in particular. We enjoy the vacations, day trips, weekend getaways and geek out over the planning of such events. From lodging to dining to Fastpasses we have a spreadsheet for every occasion. Mike’s frivolous Disney goal is to acquire a magic band of every style while Jamie’s goal is to experience as many Disney desserts as possible. Usually there isn’t a day that passes without some discussion of the master plan of our next trip to the happiest place on earth. Most people think we’re normal – until they travel to Disney with us. We have been married for 16 years and are blessed with a daughter and a son who have already learned the importance of planning ahead! As a family we thoroughly enjoy the magic and the memories at Walt Disney World and are here to help others experience the magic as well.
