My Disney Cruise Line Experience During Covid Part 7: Adult Areas

In January, on my recent voyage on the Disney Fantasy, I was able to have some much needed downtime. I was there with my family, and all of us were over 18, so we could enjoy the adults only areas.

Many people think that a Disney Cruise is only for families with kids, which could not be further from the truth. There are specific areas that you must be 18 or older to enter. For those doing a kid’s free trip, these maybe some of your favorite spots.

There are two adult only restaurants, one being Palo and the other being Remy. Note that neither of these restaurants are included with your general price of your vacation. If you want something a little extra and an opportunity to get away from the kids for a bit, then this might be perfect for you. Honestly, in my opinion, I loved being able to have our normal rotational dining with our server team, so we chose to skip these restaurants. It is good to know they are an option if you would like though.

There are also some bars and clubs that are only for adults. There is no cover charge to enter, but if you are buying any alcohol, that is an additional fee. French Quarter Lounge, Currents, Cove Cafe, O’Gills Pub and Skyline are just a few.

There are plenty of different shows all over the ship. Some of them are for the entire family, and others will have specific showtimes for adults 18 and up. Make sure to check on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App because it will inform you of all those showtimes and age requirements.

My favorite part about the adult area on the Disney Fantasy is the adult only pool area/upper deck. Sitting outside and having a beautiful view without children all around is very peaceful. I enjoyed going up there when you would be debarking from a Port of Call, and it would just be so relaxing seeing the ship leave. You also can have the most gorgeous sunset views from these areas. You might even have some characters stop by and those areas which is fun without little ones around.

That is just a small taste of what an adult’s only trip can look like on the Disney Fantasy. There is so much for people of all ages, and don’t think you need to have kids with you to enjoy a Disney Cruise.
