By now, everybody associates with the popular trope of the personification of inanimate objects and the anthropomorphism of animals.

From A Bug’s Life (1998) which gave sentience to a troupe of misfit bugs, to Cars (2006) which personified all sorts of vehicles from race cars to rusty tow trucks, to (2015), which gave sentience to emotions themselves, has found a pattern that works every time.

The introduces audiences to a whole new world of elementals and the cities they live in. From this short trailer, we can already learn a lot about the this revolves around.
The earth elementals all look like they’re made of soil, with grassy hair made of foliage. The air elementals are soft and cloudy, and they can even float! The elementals have literal wavy hair, but Ember is the only elemental that appears in the entire trailer.

Throughout the quick clip shown, Ember boards a train to . As she boards the train, she dons a pair of headphones, and very few elementals pay her any heed. Except for Wade, the elemental who attempts to pick up her headphones when they’re bumped off.

The meet-cute is super adorable, and audiences are already picking up on an unlikely love story where opposites will definitely attract.
Elemental is coming to theaters on June 16, 2023.
