Pixar JUST Released the First Teaser Trailer For Its Upcoming Film, ‘Elemental’

By now, everybody associates Pixar Animation Studios with the popular trope of the personification of inanimate objects and the anthropomorphism of animals.

Beginning with Toy Story (1995), Pixar gave life to an ensemble of toys, starting a trend that some of their most popular films would follow.

From A Bug’s Life (1998) which gave sentience to a troupe of misfit bugs, to Cars (2006) which personified all sorts of vehicles from race cars to rusty tow trucks, to Inside Out (2015), which gave sentience to emotions themselves, Pixar Animation Studios has found a pattern that works every time.

Now, Pixar’s upcoming film has given thoughts and feelings to the elements! Check out the teaser trailer for Elementals (2023) here.

The teaser trailer introduces audiences to a whole new world of elementals and the cities they live in. From this short trailer, we can already learn a lot about the unlikely pair this film revolves around.

The earth elementals all look like they’re made of soil, with grassy hair made of foliage. The air elementals are soft and cloudy, and they can even float! The water elementals have literal wavy hair, but Ember is the only fire elemental that appears in the entire trailer.

Throughout the quick clip shown, Ember boards a water train to Element City. As she boards the train, she dons a pair of headphones, and very few elementals pay her any heed. Except for Wade, the water elemental who attempts to pick up her headphones when they’re bumped off.
