Disney’s New Pixar Musical Gets Premiere Date

Pixar fans, brace yourself!

It’s an exciting year ahead for Disney and Pixar. We’ve got the new Pixar movie Elemental (2023) coming to theatres in June, Pixar’s first-ever long-form series Win or Lose coming this Fall, the new Pixar short Dug Days: Carl’s Date heading to Disney+, as well as a new water show “Elemental Connection” launching at Disneyland in California.

And now, we’ve got the premiere date for a brand-new Pixar musical coming to Disney Parks this summer!

 

Just imagine all the incredible music of Pixar coming to life with live musicians, choreography, and special effects right before your eyes. Picture Woody, Buzz, Sulley, Mike Wazowski, Nemo, Carl, Miguel, and other Pixar characters all on stage together for a magical entertainment spectacular.

Well, now that dream can be a reality with Disney’s new show “TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure” debuting at Disneyland Paris this summer.

Home to popular Pixar attractions like “Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy” and Cars ROAD TRIP,  Disneyland Paris is already famed for its array of entertainment offerings. Disney Guests can enjoy shows like: “The Lion King: Rhythm of the Pride Lands,” “Dream… and Shine Brighter!,” “Frozen: A Musical Invitation,” “Mickey The Magician,” and “Disney D-Light.”

“TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure” adds to this line-up when it makes its debut at Walt Disney Studios Park on July 15, 2023.

The new Disneyland Paris show will premiere first for the press on July 8, 2023. The new show is coming to Studio Theater in Walt Disney Studios Park and will tell an original story through an immersive experience.

What is the new Pixar Musical about?

The new Disney Parks musical follows Charlie, a child who is passionate about music and dreams of conducting the orchestra for their school’s end-of-year gala. Somehow, though, Charlie loses the precious sheet music on the eve of the concert. As Charlie sleeps, Woody and his Toy Story friends wake up and join forces to recover the scores scattered throughout various Pixar stories.

From the beloved Toy Story crew to Coco’s vibrant decor, the world of Up, Monsters, Inc., or Finding Nemo’s underwater reef, Guests will be invited to embark on a multisensory poetic journey. With more than 30 artists and Pixar characters on stage, this artistic and aesthetic live performance will take Guests on an epic adventure through the worlds of Pixar, accompanied by a live orchestra.

“TOGETHER: a Pixar Musical Adventure” is guided by a bold artistic direction that blends traditional and state-of-the-art technology, creative lighting, multisensory effects, and contemporary choreography, all accompanied by iconic music, as well as an original score. Show Directors Arnaud Feredj and Matthieu Robin have created a fully immersive, surprising, and heartfelt show that blurs the line between fantasy and reality.

Music plays a major role in “TOGETHER: a Pixar Musical Adventure.” During every performance, live musicians will pay homage to the timeless beauty of Pixar’s most memorable soundtracks while also performing an original score. The mix of a live musical ensemble and a soundtrack recorded with 54 musicians at the Nashville Studios will truly bring guests on an emotional journey.

“TOGETHER: a Pixar Musical Adventure” is a testament to the talent of our artistic and technical teams – costume designers, puppeteers, dancers, musicians, prop decorators, lighting and special effects designers, engineers, and many more. They have also worked alongside Pixar Animation Studios and renowned external talents such as Romain Rachline-Borgeaud (“France’s Got Talent” finalist, tap dancer, and founder of the RB Dance Company), Céline & Cain Kitsaïs (multidisciplinary choreographers and founders of “Le Labo” dancing concept), and Anne Gravoin (trained violinist and Executive Producer in charge of selecting the musicians for the ensemble). These successful collaborations of creative in-house and external talents have resulted in a powerful show with a uniquely French touch.

“TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical” is part of the grand finale of the Disneyland Paris 30th anniversary celebration, which will come to an end on September 30, 2023.

What’s new at Walt Disney Studios Park?

The Disneyland Paris theme park will see many updates over the next months, with construction ongoing on lots of Disney Park projects.

A major expansion has included additions to Production Courtyard and Toon Studio, pre-existing lands at the Park’s entrance. They will be refurbished from November 2023 to May 2025, including the update to Studio 1, with a theater zone theme. The Toontown area will become an expanded photo op area of Worlds of Pixar.

Further, Disneyland Paris Guests are looking forward to the new Arendelle – World of Frozen land as well as the Tangled Round Ride, a spinner attraction based on the Rapunzel movie located in the Lake Promenade expansion area. Also coming are a Toy Story Playland entrance, a new English Gardens area, and the new East Pavilion, which will be near the Tangled (2010) ride and across from a new table-service restaurant.

With scheduled Cast Member strikes happening in the theme parks and no end in sight to their demands, it is yet to be known if any of the new projects will be affected.
