If you loved Star Wars’ The Mandolorian (2019), you’ll want to read on for information about the new meet-and-greet with Mando and Grogu coming to this Disney Park TODAY!
The Mandolorian premiered almost four years ago now, giving rise to an all-new generation of Star Wars fandom. The Disney+ series followed the adventures of the nameless “Mando,” later revealed as Din Djarin, a bounty hunter of the same creed as the classic villain Boba Fett. After accepting a mysterious bounty he discovers to be a young toddler (The Child) of the same race as the Jedi Yoda, he questions his position and refuses to relinquish his bounty.
Mando and “Baby Yoda” as fans began to call him became an almost instant hit with fans, especially The Child. Season two of the series revealed The Child’s name is actually Grogu, though the Baby Yoda moniker still persists.
Now, fans of the pair have the opportunity not just to watch their adventures on television, but live them as an all-new character interaction comes to Disney’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge!
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened in 2019 in both Disneyland Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in at the Walt Disney World Resort. The imaginative new land transports Guests to the original planet of Batuu to experience the sights, sounds, and tastes of a galaxy far, far away…
What’s more, familiar faces such as Rey, Kylo Ren, and Chewbacca can all be found around the area alongside new characters like Vi Moradi. Plus, today marks the first time Guests can interact with the beloved Grogu and Din Djarin at Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge!
Walt Disney Imagineering first announced the meet-and-greet at the D23 Expo. Themed entertainment journalist Brooke Geiger McDonald shared the news in an update to her Twitter yesterday:

However, as of 11:30 a.m. PST, neither character shows up on the Disneyland app. This could be because their set times are slated for later today, or that they’re a walk-around character without a specific meeting point to be updated online, and can surprise Guests who don’t know to look for them.
Disney Parks Fans hoping for a glimpse of the duo will have to journey to Batuu themselves to find out! DisneyTips will provide more updates on the status of Mando and Grogu at each Disney Park as they become available. This is the way.
